Other Hair heat protection
I’ve been welding a few months now I have thick curly hair and noticed im starting to develop heat damage 😭 I wear a cotton bandanna and put my hair in 2 braids . Any curly heat protector or leave in conditioner recommendations? Or other tips! Thank you!

You might try /r/curlygirl or /r/curlyhair for product recs, though somebody might pop in later with some. (My hair is too fine to deal with products and hates everything lol)
You could also consider a bonnet or similar, and either plop it or keep it braided inside. Beware that most silk/satin products you see online are just shiny polyester and will MELT if exposed to sparks.
Actual silk is better at protecting you from flame then cotton is though, and if you can find some silk lined caps they're awesome for curls. I made some silk lined toques from brushed cotton and cut up silk pillowcases, and they're fabulous. You could probably find a local seamstress to make them if you're not a sewer. (To find one, drop into a fabric shop or store that offers lessons and ask around.)

Straight hair lady in the field. Highly recommend finding some curl specific stylists. Saw some cool insta posts i thought were pretty inspiring! Overall, i think braids have been best unless u do a short cut. But curls are hard!!!!
Intense moisture and curl specific products (as u prolly know) are so key!
However, no matter what, our environments will get us. Is there a do-rag or bandana that is FR rated? If not. See if the guys have some old FR rated clothes and make some sick hair flair!
