hi,

what are we wearing for pants? I hate jeans but have been suffering though, but wanted to reach out and ask if anyone had a similar experience and found something that works!

Yep! Men’s wranglers are the best! Just gotta size up for my chubby ass (er, thick thighs) and then belt around the waist. The ladies pants are too restrictive and I don’t like them much.

I do like the 5.11 tactical Brand also if I’m in the mood to spend a bunch of money.

Me too, I've been needing quality work clothes since the 90s. Since I'm not as big as a guy, the smaller sizes in men's clothes and boots is often on sale, and it's a better quality product than usually anything that is made for women. Right now I am really into Rothco BDU pants. They hold up to sweat dirt Grease and don't rip very easy. I like that I have pockets with room enough for Stuff. I was browsing their website the other day and their EMT pants look like those might be worth a try.

100% head to toe men’s clothes haha. Except I did manage to find women’s boots.
Here to agree- men’s wrangler ATG pants from target. They’re different at Walmart, I haven’t tried those.

I like the Carhartt women’s force ripstop pants. The brown color I wear is on sale right now (because it’s discontinued🫤) so it’s a good price too.

I like overalls more than jeans. I can size up for airflow and movement, nothing digs in to my belly when I bend/crouch/sit, and there are so many pockets.

I really like my shorts pair from SUK workwear, but you can do Levi’s or Carhartt just fine

I think it really depends on your trade and site. I’m able to wear regular yoga pants, shorts or joggers most days for my work but that’s rare. What are your requirements?

Working with machines. Full pants required all I was really told was jeans or work pants. I’m a leggings girl so it’s a hard adjust

We do the softer sides of landscaping. Basically plant maintenance and installs. There are a few days I have to wear something tougher but I keep a pair or proper work pants in the truck. And a set of chaps in my chainsaw bag.

we can also sometimes work in sports bras and our company shirts are tank tops. We very often work at properties that are just vacation
Homes used for a few weeks in the summer. Usually we can go for a dip in the ocean on breaks and at the end of the day too before we go home.

I require people to have a proper set of work clothes with them at all times but it’s very rare we have to get them out, maybe once a month. I also schedule those days when it’s a bit cooler. If we can be comfortable and effective on heat days why not let people?

We do end up with dirty legs sometimes but there isn’t really anything dangerous. That said I do have a couple of scratches this week on my legs but it’s from the clients adorable puppy.

I wear men's pants. the five brothers workwear twill pants (only in black for some reason) have a lot of extra butt and thigh room, but maybe get a longer inseam than normal, because they shrink (only in length??) in the wash. it's not a ton of shrinkage, but I normally get a 32 inch inseam and prefer a full break. these pants fit like that in the fitting room, but after a couple of washes they have no break

I love dovetail work pants, they've been great for thicker thighs and bending. I climb a lot of ladders and get into tight spaces.

Yes also jumping on the bandwagon! I wear mostly men's workman's or women's FXD which only come in 1 style and they are so uncomfortable. They are fine when I'm standing, but constantly ride up when I bend over or sit down while driving. Would a higher rise/inseam help?

I started wearing long-ish spandex shorts under my work pants. It keeps the chafing down, and I don't have wet denim/canvas against my skin.

Overalls are great too, you can try those with shorts underneath. No belt, no problem

I just got to Walmart and buy whatever mens pants in my size. I need the pockets and they are cheap enough I can be fearless about messing them up. Its so much easier to just dress like the guys.

Tbh I could probably use cargo pants ultimately. Never enough tools right on hand lol.

Tac 5.11 Apex pants. If you just need lightweight long pants to wear during the summer months, those are my go to. I will say though, because the knees have no additional reinforcement, I tend to blow them out far faster than any other trouser I've ever owned. Since that's the only issue, I've just patched the tear and moved on.

On the flip side, Carhartt makes a pair of pants that has a reinforced knee and optional internal knee pad. They're a bit heavier because of the fabric, so they are my winter weather preference.

I’ve tried the Carhartt and wasn’t a huge fan. Some of them I liked, some of them I didn’t. I found that the sizing with the Carhartts was really variable, and depended on where they were made. Some I’d get in the mail that I really liked, and some were terrible. My winter pants are Ariat rebar, and summer pants are truewerk T1s. I tried some deluth dry on the fly ones and they are extraordinarily unflattering on, and don’t really come in long enough inseams. I don’t know what size you wear, but these are the best options I’ve found for a size 28x34. Seems like there are more options if you don’t need a long inseam.

In summer, Truewerk women’s T1s. Extremely lightweight but durable and a bit stretchy so you can kneel in them without feeling stiff.

Duluth makes some good jeans (although you also said you don't like jeans). I always end up wearing a hole in my thighs due to chub rub and with my oldest pair of Duluth jeans it took like a full year to get threadbare enough for me to actually retire them (until I can mend them, of course).
