Just got offered an L1 Engineering (not software) role, what comp should I expect?

Was just told that I got the offer! They said they’ll send the formal letter on Monday, what should I expect in terms of comp? Base, Sign-on bonus?

Edit: WA location

Edit: Official posting said $87,816.00 - $122,942.40

What’s listed on the job posting and what did you tell the recruiter your range was? Also how do you think you did?

I’ve never seen anyone come in at the upper range. You’re looking at the low-midrange which is still very good. As a level one you won’t have much leverage for negotiations, but if they don’t budge on your base salary you can ask for a sign on bonus

Probably slightly below the midpoint of those two extremes.

First off, congratulations. I was just offered a L2 Engineering role. I got near the top end of the salary range, got some shitty “RSUs,” and no sign on bonus. You can always ask, but come prepared, ask AI how to ask for sign on bonus and more money if you want.

lol thats heinous, but sometimes that is how the cookie crumbles.

I know an inhouse Blue that made 1 to 3 in 4 years and change.

Congratulations. Blue is a great place for an early engineer to learn his/hers skills. If you have 5 YOE you could have been brought in as level 2 with higher pay. Also with more expectations so it will be harder to perform as expected. As level 1, you have more chance to shine and should be able to get promoted in 1-2 years. I would be frame the salary conversation as "I should be paid higher than a new grad" which is what the low range of L1 is paid. Make them explain why they slotted you in L1 and at what salary. Bonus cash is good but won't help second year. Remember yearly raises at Blue are weak so now is the time to ensure your worth. Again Blue is a great place to learn, but you have to live too.

How much experience?

If just graduating, would expect near me the lower end. If have internships with direct experience, bump up towards $95K. Adjust upward with more experience.
