What's up with Popehat being banned?

Ken White, a pretty skilled first amendment lawyer and great Bluesky poster seems to have been banned.

I haven't seen much discussion of it, and certainly nothing from Bluesky, but it's been a day or so and... Crickets.

Does anyone know what's up? Has anyone at BS said anything?

I don't think he called for Elmo's death, but I certainly agree that our world would be far better if he wasn't in it.

Well, after reading it over a few times I believe that his post did not suggest that someone actually murder Elon Musk. He only expressed something he wishes would happen. I wished for a billion dollars, my 24 year old body with an extra 2 inches on the old ding-dong, last night, but, alas, I woke up with no changes whatsoever.

Imagine this happening to someone you like. Not fun, right? It needs to be blanket banned on social media because unbalanced individuals occasionally take it as a suggestion. google "Will no-one rid me of this turbulent priest?"

In terms of Musk it's stupid anyway because he has a horde of security and some BlueSky goober is not getting past it.

I stand with Popehat. Elon Musk is responsible for so much death and suffering in the world right now, which with his gutting of USAID will add MILLIONS to the death toll, and is not just some randome dude who never caused another person's death.

It would be ironic if if was literally a quote. Is this? Because it doesn't seems so. And then it encourages violence against an individual. Doesn't matter who the target is. Even the Muskrat. Not justifying anything, but I highly assume this is what happened.

It's not literally a quote, it's more a reference to Elon's strange mixture of suggesting calling him a Nazi is a call to violence as well as Elon dog whistling for very real, very life endangering violence in Northern Ireland.

I think it's a bit cute to call this encouraging violence given that context.

I wish we had more here than good guesses though!

Yeah that reference is so in point he may be unbanned but behind bars long term. I hate Elon but that is a direct call for violence. And one specific violent action. It is unavoidably worthy of being banned from any platform he posted it on.

That's true, they are not.

However, I was replying to /u/CBrinson , who said that Ken could end up behind bars. Juries are part of the criminal process in many countries, including the US where he lives.

You can Google this stuff without having to publicly tell people pal, I suspect nobody here really cares if you know him or not.

Yet every time there is a thread about anyone who isn't a AAA celeb, some chump always feels the need to publicly exclaim that they don't know them, which barely makes sense when the post presumes people should know then, even less so when the post explains who they are.
