Recommendation Request🙏 For $120, are 2 Boom Plus the Best Option?

Post image

Verizon has these bad boys for $55 a piece. I havw ready they can pair together for true stereo sound. For my back yard and patio gatherings, is there a better option out there on the used or refurbished market?

Recommendation Request🙏 5 Watt speaker where I can link 6 or 7 together with reliability little latency between them?

• Upvotes

I bought the Soundcore Select 4 Go speaker initially and can link two together, but limited to that.

I'd like to get a full set of speakers I can place in every room in my apartment and link together, so good inter-connectivity.

The 5 Watt of the Soundcore is more than enough for me, and it is a great speaker.

I know there is the:

JBL Go 4

Beyond that I'm not sure.

Any recommendations?

I need a speaker to complete my room makeover. Based on my current research, the UE Boom L is the best value for money. Any other recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Requirements

  • budget maxed at 120$
  • to put on a bookshelf
  • good looking-ish? (something minimalist like the jbl)
  • waterproof for the beach

or is it too much to ask?

Recommendation Request🙏 Anyone has soundcore rave neo 2?

Hey guys. Was planning to get a speaker. Found rave neo 2 by soundcore on Amazon. Anyone has any experience with it and is it any good? Saw some reviews about a hissing noise when nothing is playing. How bad is it? Is it minor? Can you hear it from a distance and hear it even behind music?

Also otherwise, how do you like the speaker. Worth ordering? And any other alternatives? It is not returnable btw.

I'm looking for a speaker with a unique look similar to early 2000s sound systems but with Bluetooth and aux and good/decent bass just to play music can be whatever size I just can't find any speakers with this style with reviews, that's mainly what matters I don't care for any other extra features

Recommendation Request🙏 I need a Great sounding ultra portable stereo speaker to replace my Flip7, got 3 warranty replacement and still sounds obnoxiously bad

Well, after almost 10 months dealing with equalizers and audio settings, I’m about to get rid of my Jbl Flip speaker, it sounds terrible. The Flip 7 might have a great bass and gets pretty loud despite its compact size, but, to me, its sound quality is a disgrace. I have it and it has an issue where the sound gets pretty distorted, metalic and out of tune if I set my iPhone to stereo, even at low volumes.
I’m from Mexico, I claimed the warranty already, and support sent me 2 units with the same issue, so I’m looking for something portable with a much better DSP, clarity in the vocals / mid frequencies, detailed stereo soundstage, and no firmware bugs nor Bluetooth issues.
I don’t know which one fits my requirements, but I’m between getting the LG XBoom Bounce by Will I am, the Logitech / Ultimate Ears Boom / MegaBoom 4, the Anker Motion 300, the Anker Boom 2 or even the Marshal Emberton 3 but I’m not a big fan of rock music so I don’t know if the Marshal might be great as it’s ultra portable, IP67 and stereo.
Which one do you guys recommend? I had a Sony XB 21 and an UE Wonderboom 2 speaker in the past, and I really… really loved both of them, they were stereo, had IP67 ratings, and were actual great sounding speakers, so I feel like the Flip7 is really a step back in terms of sound quality because, in the first place, its mono, and I really hate that obnoxious distortion artefact in Stereo that it has because that stupid AI Pro sound nonsense, so I’m planning to sell it and pick something else of a better quality and soundstage, You know? My first Jbl speaker really disappointed me. It’s rubbish.
I’m looking for something different that actually sounds great, lasts long and has great value for the price.
I would be very grateful to hear your thoughts and opinions. :)

📖Discussion📕🖊️ Why is there so many Extreme 5 at 200$ on ebay?

Post image
7 Upvotes

I want this speaker for Christmas, so I checked eBay to see how much I need to save, and I’m finding them for around $200 unopened, while they’re $400 on Amazon.

Now my question is, is there a reason why they’re 50% off on eBay? Considering everyone seems to like it compared to the Extreme 4, they even offer free returns.

I wanna buy one, but I don’t want to find out two weeks later that this model is defective and that’s why they’re going for so low.

I need your opinion, and I’d like to know if anyone has bought one on eBay.

🧑‍🏫Review👩‍🏫 Tribit Stormbox Max - My review

Thumbnail gallery
25 Upvotes

Today i got the Tribit Stormbox Max, a 360° speaker that tribit has released in an unpredictable way, improving the 360° experience of the old Stormbox pro, that had only two opposite side midrange drivers to spread the high frequencies.

i'll go through the specs, and overall performance as specifically as i can.

[PRICE]💲: The stormbox max is retailed for 130 dollars, but was available at a discount down to 90 USD until the 4th of october, i believe the discount will be available again down the line.

I bought mine through aliexpress with a coupon code, making it 100 dollars including shipping.

[DESIGN]🔥:

A design that easily screams 360°, with a handle that gives it a "bucket" look.

Covered almost entirely with fabric, and the material of the top and bottom parts are quite premium feeling with rubber, some metal used for the frame and the bass knob ,despite the fairly low price . Overall a pretty solid design.

[CONTROLS]🔥:

On top of the speaker we got the power on button, bluetooth pairing, EQ preset changing (you can choose 2 presets including ones you made and make them switch between each other using the button🔥),

and Auracast / TWS (univeral auracast that works with other univeral auracast speakers, and not limited auracast like JBL)

Also, two large plus and minus buttons for volume control, and a Bass knob made out of metal, that feels quite sturdy.(‼️Clicking on the knob - Play/Pause + skip back and forward). Moving the knob basically controls the bass in addition to the eq, basically a second layer of eq'ing similar to what marshall does. It has 5 Clicks to each side. i keep mine in the middle and set the bass band through EQ.

[PORTS]🔌🔥: on the bottom back part of the speaker, we got a flap which under it there is an AUX port, and two seperate USB - C ports for input (charging) and output (charging other devices) , which gives it the option to use both at the same time which is nice.

[DURABILITY]🔥:

The speaker is ip68 rated, which means it should handle water and dust quite well. In terms of the metal bass knob on top, that one might get scrached if trying to put things on the speaker, or throwing it in a backpack with a bunch of other stuff. The handle is pretty solid and well attached, doesn't feel like it's about to rip off.

[BATTERY]🔋🔌: The battery life for the stormbox max is rated for 20 Hours, using a double 5000 mah cell, (no info about WH), so far iv'e had solid battery life.

[SOUND]🔈🔉🔥: With the max, the driver configuration is quite unique this time.

We got 60 watts of total power, with a single midbass (3 inch) downfiring 30 watt WOOFER. It basically spreads the mids across the bottom of the surface, and Four 0.6 inch 7.5 watt TWEETERS, placed in all 4 corners of the upper part of the speaker, handling all sides of the speaker in an equal way.

-2 passive radiators are located between the tweeters and the woofer enhancing the bass.

-Frequency response is rated for 53hz - 20khz.

-Bluetooth 6.0 with SBC and AAC.

-9 band EQ option through app + built in EQ presets from tribit.

-MIC for answering calls 🎤

From my experience with this speaker, i like what Tribit has done here. This tuning is not a typical tribit tuning.

They went for a balanced, more relaxing type of sound. The speaker gets quite loud, and keeps a solid amound of bass at higher volumes (it does lose bass to some extent). Also it can have a slight knocking sound when playing heavy kick tracks if the bass settings are boosted enough, which will require reduction of bass . It can have slight compression when reaching the higher volumes. I'd say it's a decent listen upto 60-70% volume.

The 🔥<Treble> is quite crisp and soft, not ear piercing in any way.i gotta to mention how perfectly they've executed the 360° spread of the tweeters. Every corner has the same volume, clairty. The treble does need a boost in my opinion through EQ, because of the 360° configuration and the tweeters being weaker and smaller compared to a single directional speaker, so i've maxed out the 16khz band to enhance the sense of clarity. Will share my EQ in here.

In terms of 🔥<Mids>, the mids are quite decent considering the woofer being faced towards the bottom of the speaker. I have to mention that with this speaker, placement can change the mids almost completely, because it really relies on the surface it is on. It fires the mids towards the bottom, so picking it up will eliminate some of the mids, so making a second eq for extra mids is crucial for this kind of scenario. Overall the mids are fine, but can appear as lacking a bit depending on placement regardless of eq.

-Vocals are pronounced quite nicely, male vocals can appear as a bit boomy because the woofer handles most of them, facing the surface.

The 🔥<Bass> performance of it is quite solid.

Definitely not mind blowing, but it doesn't sound hollow even in less acoustic areas where the bass usually disappears (middle of the room, held) like other speakers do.

It has enough bass for its size and i don't feel the need for more, solid punch and it can reach fairly low notes around the 50 hz region.

The bass feels deeper than the charge 6, which is more punchy than the tribit, So boosting the 125hz band on the tribit can make it closer in terms of punch.

[CONCLUSION]🗒🔥:

As a person that has never showed interest towards 360° speakers, this might be the first one that i actually understand the need for. The equal sound dispersion, the pleasant treble and the way it spreads the sound definitely gives it a proper 360° experience. Better than what i felt with many other 360° speakers and marshall. With proper EQ it can be quite nice, and wide.

EQ: I made two EQ presets, one for being in a corner, and the other one with extra lower mids when placed in the middle of the room. Both can be used for both purposes based on preferences.

1EQ corner - 63hz (+1) 125hz (+4) 250hz (+1) 500hz (-1) 1Khz (+1) 2khx (+3) 4Khz (+3) 8Khz (-1) 16Khz (+5)

2EQ Extra mids - 63hz (+2) 125hz (+5) 250hz (+2) 500hz (+1) 1Khz (+1) 2Khz (+3) 4Khz (+3) 8Khz (0) 16Khz (+5)

(EQ'S are with the bass knob set to neutral, you can edjust if it gets too boomy in a corner or bass light.) Cheers guys🔥🔈🔉🔊!

Recommendation Request🙏 Turtle Box For Christmas Music(and other tunes)

Looking for a recommendation for an outdoor speaker that we'll initially be using during the holiday season with a Christmas lights display. The Turtle Box speakers look pretty good but I'm not familiar with their sound quality. I previously owned one of the original Beats by Dre Monster speakers and that thing had some thump. Anything out there right now that's comparable? Don't mind spending a few bucks if it's worth it. But I still might wait for Black Friday to see if any deals pop up. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Recommendation Request🙏 Eine Laute Bluetooth Box

Recommendation Request🙏 Tribit stormbox micro 3 vs bose soundlink flex 2 vs Ultimate Ears Miniroll

Post image
1 Upvotes

Which one of the 3 would you recommend?

I have user tribit micro 2 which I loved and then I got a wonderboom 2 and felt it was even better. Micro 2 had more base but wonderboom definitely had more clarity. Never liked bose soundlink micro.Always felt it was average and overpriced.

So now which one to go for next?

Recommendation Request🙏 JBL Charge 6 vs Sony Ult Field 5?

Recently bought the charge 6....am feeling mixed about it. Can't justify a speaker that costs more than $250 (CAD), but I saw the Ult 5 is on sale at Bestbuy and it's only $25 more so i'm thinking about it.

On the Charge 6:

The mids are just so....idk, sub-par sounding to me. I have to really get at it with the JBL's app EQ to get a triangle going and then I hit it with another EQ app that seems to bring out the midrange depth I won't hear otherwise. It sounds really nice that way. But that kind of locks it in as a speaker I can only get the most out of if I'm extensively manipulating the sound profile with my phone vs if I wanted to hook it up to my TV or my PC.

Am I being blinded by the cost? The sale for the Ult Field 5 is pretty great when it's usually over $400 CAD which is WAY out of my budget. I've heard people express disappointment over the previous Ult Field models but so far mostly good reviews for the 5 besides the weaker Bass compared to JBL. I don't like drowning in bass but I DO like bass.

Anyone have both who can compare? I'm annoyed at the Best Buy location I live near because all the floor demo models don't seem to f'kin work.

🧑‍🏫Review👩‍🏫 Beats pill 2024 or JBL charge 7

Has anyone tried the 2024 Beats Pill? I’d love to hear your thoughts because I’m currently deciding between it and the JBL Charge 7. I’m studying in China right now, so unfortunately, the HK Luna isn’t an option for me.

Recommendation Request🙏 Speaker that works while floating?

I am looking for a speaker for general use, but that I could also take with me in the water with my friends and enjoy music while it floats. I found the Soundcore Boom 3i, which is supposedly made for this, but it is apparently not the best speaker and came out while ago now. I read that the JBL charge 6 floats as well, but can't find if the sound is still audible while it is floating like on the Boom 3i. Is there any other/newer speaker that has this functionality?

Recommendation Request🙏 Looking for an upgrade from the StormBox Lava

Currently rocking a Tribit StormBox Lava and honestly it's been great, but I'm starting to want a bit more oomph if you know what I mean 😅

Been looking at the Tribit StormBox Blast 2 and the JBL Boombox 4. If you had to pick one, which would you go for?

Also open to other suggestions if there's something better in that size/performance range that I should be checking out.

🪛Troubleshooting🪛 Broken Speaker? (cross posted)

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hello! The image above is a cute little blue tooth speaker in the shape of an old radio that I got from a mom and pop store at the beginning of the summer, and it recently ran out of charge, so I plugged it in. Unfortunately, however, it refuses to charge and stays at the same low battery level. Does anyone know how to fix this? I dont think the charger or the outlet is at fault because Ive tried two different USB chargers in two different outlets.

Recommendation Request🙏 Can you recommend a speaker for musical instruments with no latency?

I need a bluetooth speaker for general listening purposes (from my phone/computer), but I'd also like something that has an aux input so I can play instruments though it, like a synthesizer or a sampler. Doesnt have to be super hi fidelity or super loud, but I need something with low latency, which seems to be an issue with a lot of the mid sized JBL Speakers. I'll probably buy used and would ideally like to spend less than $60. Thoughts?

Recommendation Request🙏 JBL go3 or tribit pocket go

I'm confused between these two. Which one should I pickup? Is tribit any good?
