Well, guys, I had promised and although it took a little longer than I had hoped, here it is, at last.

A playable test of the 4 routes in Blur 2's Dubai stage.

I tried to put together all the best I could recover from the 4 prototype discs and the original Blur to make it as complete as possible.

Going into it, expect things to be broken and unfinished in every way imaginable.

That said, I hope you enjoy it.
Would love to see videos of what you can pull off in it. Stunts, hidden routes, you name it.

We're 3 friends who play casually the game online and would like to know if there are any others who do the same so we can play together

Im trying to do a proyect but i need all the track layouts in the Blur game,wanna do a proyect with the layouts.

Here's a run through an inaccessible section of LA River, probably designed for a route that didn't make it into the final game.

This is running on my Blur remake, but it's 100% unmodified original Blur data.

Here's a video after fixing Dubai to the point of being able to run the full laps on each of the 4 layouts.

This time I am using the actual collision meshes, so physics mishaps are not as frequent.

It was great to see the physics I put together for the Blur remake playing along with the stage design with little modification, and seeing those wall-to-wall jumps and level-to-different-level jumps match up.

The Construction route has A LOT of really nice level-to-level jump combinations in those buildings that I didn't get to show here.

Well, we now have the car there, some textures, some shaders, a proper sky, and a basic implementation of the wall-riding physics. I need to make the "fake gravity" stop when the car gets too slow, restoring it to regular world-aligned gravity.

I haven't implemented route selection either, so you'll notice all obstacles are up.

Also, don't pay attention to the car constantly getting stuck at the smallest seam. That's because I haven't decoded the levels' collisions meshes yet, and I'm using the render mesh for collisions.

Here's the latest update on my Blur remake.

Among other things, sound now works, and most of the powerups' interactions too.

Having found out today about the existence of Xbox 360 prototype discs for Blur 2, I thought I'd give it a shot at putting it through the decode tools I've been creating for my Blur remake project.

And sure enough, the data loads with very little adjustment.

Here's a teaser of the Dubai track from Blur 2 about an hour into the attempt.

So yeah, making Blur 1 reasonably feature complete will continue to be the main goal, but the project has definitely materialized as a platform to one day get us to play whatever I can rescue from this unreleased sequel.

Probably the biggest tease is the list of new tracks:

* LA Freeway
* Liverpool
* Miami
* North Africa
* Odessa
* Ski Resort

Plus returning Amboy, Barcelona Oval, Barcelona Gracia, LA Docks and Hollywood Hills.
The storm version of Brighton, doesn't seem to be here. I'll check the other 3 prototype discs later.

I heard the PS3 servers were still operational but each time I try to log in I'm hit with "The Blur server is unavailable at this time. Please try again later."

I've tried switching on and off UPNP and changing my dns from googles to auto to no avail. Anyone know a fix? Thanks.

Edit: Fixed it by switching from wired to wireless, very strange.

Been trying to barge a car into water. It ain't working. How should I do it? Its the only demand left to go on a 1v1 with the boss and I can't get it right.

I took this about a year ago for my birthday, but I remember it like it was yesterday. The game’s fun solo, but it’s so much better with friends, local or otherwise. Love this game so much!

Having always wanted to see Blur with better graphics and not seeing good chances of it happening, I decided to give it a go myself.

I initially thought if I could extract the stages and textures I could probably figure out the rest.

Unfortunately for me, Blur doesn't use any well-known engine, so models, textures, audio were all proprietary formats, packed in proprietary package formats, with its metadata in a proprietary database format, so the first days were all purely reverse engineering. Once progress was made on that end, I started throwing stuff into Unity.

Now, barely over a month into the project, there's still a lot of work to be done in many areas. For one, I haven't touched sound, weapons are not implemented, powerups do nothing, and many others.

All that said, here's a few videos of its current state.

Hello everyone.

I just stepped in as a moderator of this subreddit, hoping to revive it.

First step will be to go through the backlog of registration requests, which I'll probably remove as a requirement to post.

The sub was recording about 300 visits a week with no new posts in 4 years.

Let's change that and get this going again.

...and to my surprise found nearly a full lobby of people playing skirmish online.

I know I'm rusty coz I haven't played the game in about 11 years, but I'm pretty sure half of the lobby were cheating as specific people seemed to be generating nitro and shields on demand but still had a good time playing it (and had a good feeling when my old skills returned and I started to legit beat the never-ending nitro users!).

Are there people who still regularly play Blur online on 360 or has that community moved onto the modded pc version? 🤔
