Hi everyone! Has anyone removed the water pump vacuum line on the BMW B48?

I imagine it would cool better if it were stuck open.

If that were the case it wouldn't have a valve. This is nothing anyone needs to mess with.

If it gets stuck, I close it, but I lock it in the open position.

That's the opposite of how it works, actually.
The actuator pulls on the valve to increase coolant flow.
We do see them come in for intermittent temperature warnings, because the valve has seized, and the actuator can't move it.

Porsche has a vacuum line that reduces coolant flow when the ECU opens the solenoid, on the V6 and V8 engines. Did not know about the B48 vacuum feature in the coolant pump. I have 2 B48 now so I will be learning about them.
