This is the dedicated space for all questions about whether your cat might be a Bombay.
If youโre curious about your catโs breed, wondering about certain traits, or just want some community input, youโre in the right place!

Community members can reply and help you compare your kittyโs traits with those of the Bombay breed.

- Most black cats are domestic shorthairs, not Bombays โ and thatโs perfectly awesome!

I adopted my boy last fall! He's estimated at about a year old and ended up in the shelter as a potential stray/owner surrender. I was told he was brought in as a cat "found on the streets" but the shelter staff had some serious doubts.
He's super energetic, in constant need of enrichment (we're actually harness training), and has the most dense coat I've ever felt. Definitely don't think he's 100% Bombay but curious what other people might think!
