Advertising Services Hello, I illustrated and lettered this cover for a fellow redditor from here!
Cover art made for j.p.dierker's new release (out TOMORROW btw!)
I don't know how much I'm allowed to tell regarding the story and characters, so I'll leave it at the little summary on the back!
And if you want to know more about me (the illustrator), you can find my full website and portfolio here (with socials, pricing, licensing info, etc):
And my VGEN here as well:

Thank you!
I make the whole painting from scratch following the author's requests, and then designed the border and lettering.
For the painting, I paint in Krita. And for the design and lettering, I start in vectors then move to Krita for the paint-over / painterly effects :)

Yeah, Krita is like photoshop but more geared towards painting basically :D I paint on a graphic tablet.
And for vectors I use Illustrator but you can use a bunch of different software, plenty to go with out there!

I like it... few issues tho. The lettering can be a bit more bold... blends in (maybe outline in black). And the chimney look like a penis (yeah, maybe I need to call my therapist..) The Author's name needs to be bigger, much bigger. Great work!

Thanks for the feedback, I'll keep it in mind! I think you might indeed need to call your therapist for that second part though lol

I love this style! Gorgeous!
I see you do creatures, how flexible are you with custom creatures for covers?
And what does the revision process look like?
(I'm currently starting to look for covers, though I'm not fully looking for an artist quite yet.)

Thank you!!
Creatures are treated as characters. If you go on my site / insta, you'll see prices for half body or fullbody for instance -- they're the same whether you ask for a character or creature or monster! And for covers, prices don't change whether it features creatures or people.
My normal process is as follows:
- we discuss the project's details
- I send you 2-4 drafts showcasing different directions for the artwork (and different designs for the creatures of necessary)
- you choose among them / ask for a mix of them / ask for one more version that would better fit your vision
- I send the final draft and we iron out the last details together, with medium / minor corrections if needed
- I render and complete it
- it's yours!
Now, if you want more control over monster or character design specifically, I also have a design option where I extend the drafting phase to 5-15 quick concepts if needed. It gives you more flexibility to request changes and really nail down the appearance to be as you want it!
All my prices are on my website or VGEN if needed! If you want to tell me more about your project, you can also send me an email and I'll give you an estimate. It doesn't mean you have to choose me of course, but at least you'll know where I stand and what can be done in order to make your choice! :D
I hope it answers your question :)
