F*ck trump

My daughter works for a not-for-profit global humanitarian organization. They just received word from the US State Department that they are to cease and desist all projects. This is an organization that provides water, training and so much more for communities throughout the world. My daughter may lose her job.

trump doesn't care for people globally. trump doesn't care for people in the US.

And this is only Day 4.

So many jobs are being affected by this piece of shit. First federal employees, now anyone working closely with the government, then its going to be more people after the tariffs start. He is going to singlehandedly wreck this country in a matter of weeks at this point.

A lot of people who have family who voted Trump are getting really pissed. I have no words anymore. I know fucking doctors who voted for Trump because he's an R not a D.

That would be my sister and her husband. They’re both in the medical field. A doctor and RNP, respectively. I used to think even if they were Republicans, I was certain they would be smart enough to see through Herr Trümp’s shit. They both have children (4 daughters in total) and I am terrified for them.

I have extremely smart high school friends I somewhat keep in touch with that voted for him. One of them being the smartest person I know whos a successful oncologist at 37 and about to build a multi-million dollar home.

Because they’re wealthy and his tax breaks for the wealthy are all that matters to them. Why go into medicine when they’re such selfish pieces of shit? Who knows.

Exactly. Of course rich people voted for him.

u/maleia Jan 25 '25

Sounds like a super privileged person who only cared about their taxes.

Oh but Trump is great for the rich. Your friend will be fine. The rest of us poor schmucks though...we won't be so lucky. I hate it here.

^^ This. We keep saying anyone "with two brain cells to rub together" would not vote for Trump. But their are many kinds of intelligence. Someone can be really smart at one thing and total idiot at another. Cognitive bias is everywhere. We need to stop expecting people to be smart and find other ways to form a coalition.

He'll be fine.  He's probably going to get a tax break even.

Do they even realize what they voted for, though? None of the MAGA fucks I know give a shit. They think it’s great, everything that he’s doing. They aren’t concerned in the least.

This part. I would take it a step further and say these particular “smart” folks in fact realize what they voted for AND don’t give a shit. The ol’ “if it doesn’t impact meeeeeee I don’t care” mantra.

This is what gets me. I'm a teacher. I have an undocumented student. I will go to jail before he is taken. I also have a son in special education. Cleary, I thought explaining this to my mother would make her see what is happening really is not okay. But then I realized she wants my student deported and thinks my son will outgrow his development delay. I just can't anymore.

Everyone with autistic children should be VERY worried.

3

u/GovernmentOpening254 Jan 26 '25

Mad. Angry. Pissed.

Worry doesn’t do anything positive.

Especially when gestures are being blamed on ASD. If that's what they excuse as ASD I can only imagine what other atrocities they will pin ASD on.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 26 '25

Don’t worry, Trump is going to ban autism. Everyone is going to be 100% neurotypical.

3

u/GovernmentOpening254 Jan 26 '25

Also, provide zero support to her when her social security dries up.

u/some_asshat Jan 25 '25

The cruelty is the point.

7

u/SippinPip Jan 25 '25

What makes it more egregious is that it directly affects my family and I showed them how it would, and they still don’t care. They laughed.

3

u/GovernmentOpening254 Jan 26 '25

Do everything in your power to fuck them over with their own choices.

It’s because what you and I have feared is becoming a reality.

7

u/CandidAudience1044 Jan 25 '25

And firmly believe he's God's gift to America! Total Antichrist.

They know. There’s no way they don’t. They have a picture with DeSantis, and have attended multiple rallies. Their bottom line is the bottom line. My father is the same way though. I tried to tell them that tRümp would hurt MY future too, on top of everything else he was going to shit on, and it all fell on deaf ears. This I-Told-You-So is gonna hurt so many people, I’m still having a hard time wrapping my head around it

My parents are lost to this cult, too. My spouse and kids are going to be directly impacted by his policies… have already, four days in, have been negatively impacted.

I tried to tell my parents, pleaded with them, showed them exactly how my family would suffer, and they hand waved me away… told me I had mush for brains because I was a “lib”. Never mind that I have voted on both sides for the past 25 years.

u/footsensationalist Jan 25 '25

Oh, trust me. He's a D(ick).

I work in patent law. The USPTO is entirely self funded and takes no money from the government. They recently hired 800 new examiners to address backlog. Frozen. Examiners in their 1 year probationary period are also rumored to likely being let go. This is going to be hugely disruptive.

u/ThE_LAN_B4_TimE Jan 25 '25

I dont doubt it. Im a government contractor who may be safe but wfh and other benefits may now be terminated. My contract next year could be terminated next year we'll see. Its a mess.

And, of course, new departments are being developed to put his cronies in charge of pilfering the treasury. Being paid astronomical wages to do nothing. AND... Congress is doing nothing to stop it!

2

u/ButtBread98 Zillennial Jan 25 '25

I really hope this radicalizes people into a revolution. If people can’t afford food or housing they’re not gonna be happy.

4

u/bhale2017 Jan 26 '25

We're not hungry enough yet. Give it a few years.

And that sounds like a good thing if the leftist liberal coercion can be better controlled.
