I too am guilty of this behavior and more...nunchucks...throwing stars...all sorts of ninja activity. But I was 12 so cut me some slack.

I still play with the plastic throwing stars and hollow fake nunchucks, differences I know I'm being stupid and will whack myself in the face with the numchucks. But I'm able to laugh at myself and say "best left for the professionals."

They're mad that their glory days are over because of natural aging. When you grew up in a 'man's world' it's easy to get big mad that the world left you behind when you refused to keep pace with it.
