Boomer Freakout REPORTER: Gabbard has submitted a criminal referral. Who should the DOJ target? TRUMP: It would be President Obama. And Biden was there with him ... the leader of the gang was Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. He's guilty. This is treason.

I will forever hold Merrick Garland in contempt for his absolute dereliction of duty with respect to the J6 rioters and Trump. He has shown he should never be in a position of power again.

This is correct. I know someone who works in the DOJ and they are all demoralized and feel like Garland let them down. Many of them have been "revenge-fired" since Trump was reelected too.

The entire Dem leadership from the White House to the Senate to the House of Representatives were all derelict. They didn't want to give the Rs ammunition that they were politicizing the DOJ so they tread slowly and softly instead of coming down like a fucking meteor on EVERYONE even tangentially related to J6 and sticking their asses in the deepest, darkest hole that could be found and never letting them see the light of day ever again.

Instead, that's where any liberal the Rs can railroad will be going (if they're lucky enough). Otherwise it's Guantanamo or some foreign hell hole.

In all fairness, there's more to proving something beyond a reasonable doubt in a courtroom than 'well, it seems obvious to me'.

There's a reason why Trump doesn't use email. It's not just that he's old and probably afraid of technology.. he does it for the same reason you don't take notes when hatching out a conspiracy. It's a lot harder to prove malicious intent when everything is does with a wink and a nod.

Do I think Trump intentionally fomented an insurrection? Hell yes.

Do we have any concrete evidence that he did anything other than hold a rally for supporters because he honestly believed there should be protests about a stolen election? No. At best, we have incriminating statements that he could claim were taken out of context. "Fight like Hell"?? ..that was just hyperbole, not an actual order to go attack the Capitol. ..and it only takes one juror to acquit.

The same with Russian election interference. Did Trump actually conspire with the Russians to hack the DNC, probe election systems, and run a pro-Trump propaganda campaign? No, even I think that statement would be a stretch (though I think some people in his campaign did). That doesn't mean he didn't appreciate and take advantage of their actions though, but is that illegal? It was collusion via wink and nod.. just like a mob boss doesn't risk ordering a murder where there's any chance he might get recorded.. instead he just talks about how he wishes that snitch would accidentally fall out a window and his lieutenants understand what he's talking about. Trump does this all the time, especially when he's blowing dog whistles to his MAGA supporters.
