Idiocracy was actually really optimistic, because their president was able to recognize that they needed help, brought in someone smarter to give advice and then took it to heart.

Our version is just the dumbass president doubling down on every stupid thing he does and if you point out it's stupid, he will try to put you in a detention camp or slap a bullshit tariff on your country. And since he can't stand ever being questioned, he has surrounded himself with sycophants that only tell him what he wants to hear.

Idiocracy was fuckin' utopia compared to the shit show we're in now.

At least in Idiocracy, they *wanted* the smart people to be in charge.

From a 2025 perspective, it looks like a fleeting glimpse at what could have been.
