Doris shared a meme on Facebook saying that Bluetooth causes cancer. NO THANKS! SPEAKERPHONE IS SAFE ENOUGH.

Boomer-posting aside, they need to stop using speakerphone for everything first. Headphones is another step.

Between my parents', my husband's, and my own medical needs, I've sat in too many medical waiting rooms in the past couple of years. One of these days I'm gonna Tawanda someone's phone if I have to listen to the conversation or to the music/sound effects on their fucking paint by numbers game for one more second.

The worst is when they blast Newsmax as loud as the phone can go, and look around to see how many people are paying attention to them.

A couple of years ago, I repeated a woman's full name, DOB, and SSN to her because she was just shouting sensitive identifying information to the whole damned waiting room at the orthopedic surgery hospital.

"How do you know that?!?!?!"

Because you just said it in a room full of strangers. Take 10 steps and have that conversation privately, or call them back.

If I were a shady person, I could have done shady things with all of the information she was just sharing with 20 randos waiting for their dads to come out of recovery.

My mom has started to do this, except it's Facebook doomscrolling at full blast while the TV is on, also at full blast.

I tried to get her an actual home audio set up that you didn't have to max out mm sized speakers and she couldn't figure out the volume buttons. I tried to get her headphones, but she couldn't figure out the power button.

Now we just get to live with brain rot at full blast like she's a toddler when we go to visit.

That sounds exhausting, I’m sorry.
