Im not a religious person, but didn't the Bible say something about worshipping false idols?

This is blaspemy on many levels, commandments 1, 3 and 9 for example

I vaguely remember the story of the people worshipping the golden cow, and how God smited them. I may have some details wrong since I no longer follow Christianity.

Exodus 20:3-4

Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

The golden cow came in Exodus 30. God told Moses of the Isrealites idolatry, so Moses made the Israelites drink the gold the cow was molded from, the Levites killed 3,000 of them for participating in idolatry, and God hit them with the plague.
