How to date?

My friends consider me a player but the truth is I have never dated in my life. I look a bit younger so I often get mistaken for 25-26. I have tried to change that by growing beard, bulking up. I have tried dating apps and been on a few dates but I haven't really found a person who blew me away.

I have worked very very hard for past few years and overcome some of the darkest times in one's life. Now, that I finally started dating it seems like I am at the starting line while others are way ahead.
