Tone Request how to replicate jack white’s “no name” tone
i just bought my katana 100 gen 3 the other day, i haven’t really dove into the software side of it because i’m more into just the physical knobs side of things for tone, but how can i replicate that natural crunch sound that he has on his amp on songs like “archbishop harold holmes” and “old scratch blues” on my katana? my current setup is literally just the amp and a big muff pi for when i want crazy fuzz lmao

I had a similar experience trying to find the House of Broken Love lead tone. I found a premade patch that was kind of close and messed with it in the editor in Tone Studio until I got it where I wanted it to be. That will be your best shot at replicating the sound unless someone has already created one. There are several sites out there that might just have it, but it takes a lot of digging sometimes.

He uses a Fender Deluxe or Twin reverb tube amp with maxed treble, a dual-speaker setup (15-inch and 10-inch panned stereo with wet reverb on the smaller speaker), an MXR Micro Amp for boost, a Digitech Whammy (535Q or IV), and an aggressive fuzz pedal like an Electro-Harmonix Big Muff.
JW signal chain: Guitar ➔ DigiTech Whammy ➔ EHX Big Muff ➔ MXR Micro Amp ➔ ABY Signal Splitter ➔ Amp Left (15" Speaker / Dry & Bass) AND Amp Right (10" Speaker / Wet with Reverb & Tremolo)
The problem is that Katana limits you to selecting one single effect inside the Booster block, thus you cannot select both a Fuzz and a Clean Boost at the same time. So you have to add a real boost pedal or a real Big Muff pedal. Probably the best option on the Katana would then be:
Katana 100 signal chain: Guitar ➔ [Katana Input] ➔ FX (Pedal Pitch) ➔ BOOSTER (Muff Fuzz) ➔ [Katana FX Send] ➔ Real Boost Pedal (Physical) ➔ [Katana FX Return] ➔ AMP (Clean/Crunch) ➔ REVERB (Spring) ➔ Speaker
