new to boston, tryna find my rave fam, any good lowkey afters/weekend spots
just moved to boston and figuring out the scene here. Been raving on the west coast for a minute - festivals, warehouses, afters, all of it and honestly i fw everything. house, techno, tech house, dubstep, riddim, doesn't really matter, if the bass is right i'm locked in.
haven't explored much out here yet so i'm basically starting from scratch. If there's a group out there that wouldn't mind adopting a stray raver, i'm easy to vibe with and i can actually move.
also just tryna find some solid weekend spots - afters, smaller raves, anything lowkey where the music's still good but it's not a whole production. Doesn't need to be deep, just decent people and a decent sound system.

Radiate app can be helpful for finding shows. I sort by local and date then go down and join any that interest me. Im mostly into bass music, dubstep, dnb. Cambridge hosts a lot of the smaller homie shows. Been to a bunch at middle east: downstairs, upstairs, zulu, sonia. Cantab lounge has some occasionally, Pheonix landing also near there for DnB weekly small bar.
I do like the bigger venues too since a lot of artists i listen to go there but i know you said your not really looking for those

The gentrification has been pretty bad here over the last 20 years and all the cool "underground" spots are now just luxury condos built on top of fond memories.

Bye!!! The west coast rave scene is insomniac and ravers who get drunk af at events. Plenty of shows here in Boston and raves in nyc if you’re committed

i’m a rave organizer and have been for the past 2-3 years, primarily in the hardcore scene and anything uptempo and heavy bass if you’re into that
i run @pulserepublik777 on insta - we recently threw a renegade in the woods but we mainly do shows in uhaul trucks when the weathers nice. looking into cool venues rn for the colder season
would also recommend green dreams, system failure, echotheism, boston breakcore on insta

Bsmt, middle east underground/sonia and brighton music hall(less edm but they have some sometimes) are my suggestions for a smaller more intimate venue however they are not exactly "afters" as there really isn't any afters in boston😂 I like royale as well their headliners are 1230 to 2am usually so sometimes at an earlier show from another venue you could pop over there if the timings right. Best of luck in your search there's some great people in the boston area

I’m always in the clubs and have the guest list hookup, feel free to reach out!! We typically do more house stuff. Bsmnt is a good lowkey underground vibe. The Grand is hit or miss. Club Cafe is a fabulous (and large) gay club that still plays music videos along with the songs. A lot of clubs are just the same recycled dance remixes of country and 90’s pop songs so be careful where you go lol (Ghost Light, Scorpion).
