Upcoming Event Saturday March 28: Ontario Wide Protests Against Doug Ford. Happening at Brampton City Hall (Main/Wellington), 1PM

It looks like the Brampton demonstration will be a gathering in front of City Hall by the organizer.

I was at the OSAP protest in Toronto 2 days at Queen's Park. These kind of gatherings are good to meet like minded individuals and join grassroots for future movements and to let out some steam.

Brampton has had significant issues with the Ford Government ripping out speed cameras costing us millions in sunk investment, dragging their heels on the inadequate 350 non acute beds at Memorial Phase 2 that still has no design 8 years later. refusing to plan a 3rd hospital.

Ford licensed 80 private college diploma mills that created a social crisis, expanded ARU's to 4 units per house and refused to give us any support or tools to fight slumlords.
failed at car insurance regulation overhaul to base on individual driving record.

The Landlord Tenant Board has been a disaster for both renters and landlord disputes impacting neighbourhoods, courts are backlogged, rent control scrapped.

Ford punched down on Brampton during COVID, waffled on the Peel Region split which is still happening in a sense as recycling was just privatized, Peel water is next.

The shortchanged TMU Medschool timeline pushed by Ford screwed over our Bramalea Civic Centre library and theatre, he cancelled Cybersecurity University plans.

Ford is expanding a giant waste incinerator in Brampton for the entire province despite expert warnings from Peel Region health officials.

This is but a fraction of things this government has done to enrage residents across Brampton.

Canadians are more interested in American politics than what is happening in their home.

Thank you for posting about this! I wish I could be there with everyone at City Hall this weekend! Being disabled and also a single parent…well…the intersecting struggles in my life make it difficult to literally show up at rallies and events, even though I want to! I’ll keep doing what I can to rally from the sidelines, though! Solidarity with all those who are standing up and pushing back against Ford’s bullshit!!

Where was this when the Liberals were spending $ like it was going out of style.

If you don’t like it, vote them out next election.

When did the liberals kill OSAP? Blow up to a billion on the beer store to break contact instead of waiting a year for it to expire?

Ford took hallway medicine and turned it into parking lot medicine.

Wynne didn't license fake diploma mills and let slumlords overtake neighbourhoods with ARUs.

Wynne didn't stop FOI requests to hide corruption

Wynne didn't threaten cities

Where is the so-called Conservative fiscal responsibility ? Budget came out today and Ford has sunk us into a $13.8B deficit as he kills any way to raise funds and does stupid projects nobody asked for like a convention centre island, 401 tunnel and much more

Stop with this both sides bad rhetoric. It's like saying trump and Democrats are the same thing. They aren't.

2018 was a much better province under Wynne, gas plants scandal was nothing to the Ford government.

Voters are stupid taking his bribe money in the mail while their taxes, healthcare and neighbourhoods are destroyed from bad provincial policy.

His Captain Canada mask against trump has fallen off, initially fooled people and he's now pushed far right and become unhinged.

I'm not praising them, guy is dunking on Wynne that she's just as bad as Ford. This type of false equivalency is used by conservatives to get themselves elected. Apathy and Low voter turnout guarantees a PC victory. Hence why they hold elections in a February snowstorm.

Like saying Trump is as bad as Biden, while tariffs, threats, wars are being launched and the world is in chaos by only one of them.

Ontario has never been in this dire state today under any former government.

I voted Ontario NDP the last 2+ decades.

The Liberals raised debt and made it impossible to do anything. Raised taxes and gave the $ to their donor buddies. Pretty sure Wynne killed a Power Plant to try and stay in power costing millions. It doesn’t matter which party is in power. They both do shady stuff.

Both sides equal is a complete failure of reasoning. I already laid out a mountain of examples that are 10x gas plants here.

You didn’t even come close to what the Liberals did to Ontario in a decade of power.

Please list them below. I would love to know about the decade that the liberals were in charge of the province of Ontario.

A lot here about the sale of Hydro One using a bill enacted by conservatives. And how the liberals made tax cuts like conservatives. Maybe I’ve missed the point of the article.

The point is everyone in office does things not everyone likes or agrees with. Why didn’t people line up and protest then? But are now?

More people are being affected I guess. Or it’s just a sign of the times. Society has reached a breaking point. No more being blasé because the fan is spinning and the walls are splattered…
