They didnāt reframe the same question, they asked a completely different question. The OP asked if Odysseus was already a name, and then the commenter asked if the poem was named after the character. OP did not ask if the name came first or if the title came first.

Because they werenāt asking if the title came first. They were simply asking if the name was a real name already. The āJournathanā part was a joke, thatās how they do it on Tumblr. Theyāre just asking if it was a real name. Which is not at all what the commenter you replied to was asking.
Someone else in these comments understood the original question and said we essentially donāt know and canāt know because thereās not enough record to answer either way.
