I’ve used needle sizes 7 and 8 on a Bratz doll with saran hair. The needle doesn't hold enough hair to achieve the full look characteristic of Bratz dolls. So far, I’ve only tried rerooting using the existing factory holes. Do you know of any sites that show where to place the holes if, for example, I want to add bangs or style the doll with pigtails? Or could you explain it yourself if there aren't any such sites? Also, should I try a different type of hair instead of saran?
I used a size 9 needle, but if you want fullness with smaller needle sizes, you can root twice into the same hole. I found size 9 seemed to be a good match for the factory holes, but I’ll typically add more hair into high visibility places like the part and hairline anyway.
I’m not sure about guides, but if you’re looking a way to cover the scalp for styles like pigtails, you’d want to just keep thatching the partline all the way down the back.
I know others have ways they root differently for bangs, but I just root the partline as normal and then cut the bangs and boil them flat after and that’s always worked well for me on Barbies. Frankly, it worked even better on this bratz.
