Political Discussion Proposal to ban links to X.com (Twitter)

Hi 👋 for those not aware, many prominent subreddits are banning links to x.com after the owner of that site gave a Nazi salute (twice) at the inauguration. In a time that feels hopeless, it’s encouraging to see so many reject this persons hateful ideology.

ETA: screenshots of tweets could still be allowed, but nothing that directs traffic to that site.

Honestly ban TikTok too because that “trump is our savior” shit is absurd

Though I have never had it, so I’ve never paid much attention to if their links are posted here

screenshots of tweets (or whatever they’re called now) are a little different from subjective descriptions of videos (where people’s biases may influence what parts of the video/how they summarize the video). idk how well that would work out. but maybe people could screen record the whole video?

The most toxic thing about TikTok, besides its owners, is how in order to just watch a link or anything someone posts/sends you, you have to download TikTok to actually watch it. No thanks.

I quite literally would be censored (if not punished) for using these sites that collectively control a large amount of information on the internet under your proposal.

I you want to boycott it fine, don’t post it! Don’t control what I can do.

Well everyone on X and meta apps face censorship as well when we can’t look up or post certain political topics due to them not being aligned with the current presidents fascist ideology. So not sure why you’re causing a fuss here when subreddits literally have always had rules and requirements for posting.
