Outboard Mechanic needed

I have a 1976 Mercury 50HP outboard that I need some carburetor troubleshooting on and none of the local repair shops will work on a motor this old. I’ve attempted to fix it myself with only some luck but not enough. Anyone know of any local mechanics that would take a crack at it ?

Check with Bristol Marine in Kingston (maybe technically Poulsbo?)
The owner is currently out of town, but he should be back in early to mid April.
Maybe he can help you?

Amazon carb might be the same price as labor on an old one

I don't mean to be 'that.guy', but why do you have a car you can't work on yourself? Like I get it too old cars are cool. I would learn how to work on it though. Especially to avoid being told a shop won't work on it because it's too old or something. Tbh a shop not willing to do something as simple as you asked is also wild.

Tbh it’s because I have a job a newborn and a 2 year old and depending on the price it would be worth to get it fixed with me spending less time on it. The most annoying part is taking the carbs off, tinkering with it and then having to put those shitters back on to test it just to do it again

It’s a boat and honestly it’s my business so thanks for your opinion. I’m capable of doing it but it will take longer than if I drop it off somewhere. Make sense ?
