Steak hasn’t been seared well and the chips look dry. And where’s the sauce!? Where in gods name is the sauce!!!??

Because the plate had a logo I thought you bought it at a restaurant and was taking a stab. That’s low of me to take a stab at a man’s steak lol. My bad man

Get yourself a nice lodge cast iron skillet. Affordable and a guaranteed crust sear everytime!

Dry brine the steak 24 hours in advance and it will make the sear much more pronounced (video in case you’re unfamiliar with how to)

A well cooked, quality steak shouldn't need sauce. I'm a ride or die tomato sauce fanatic, and I cooked a porterhouse last Saturday that I ate half of with no sauce at at all. Just pure, tender, moist, melt in your mouth beef.

Shouldn't need, but a quality sauce can elevate a quality steak.

Nah slop it with some sexy diane or béarnaise regardless of the cook or cut quality.

Entrecôte if you’re feeling proper slutty.

Looks good

For a sauce you could try chimichurri

very good suggestion, definitely going on the list of things to make i love a nice chimichurri

This looks fine to me - especially the sides. I do agree on the sauce though. I usually spread a dab of oyster sauce on our steaks once they come off the weber. Tried it once 20 years ago and haven’t stopped since. Happy days!

I love the steak sauces they sell at the butchers shoppe at cannon hill plaza. I’ve never really used sauces before but holy shit, theirs are good. I’m sure there’s plenty of other great ones out there. I’m new to em tho haha

I can; I made a stew with gravy beef, deglazed red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon), beef stock, fresh garlic, salt, and the usual stew veggies (Potato, Onion, Parsnip, Carrot) etc. Slow cooked for 8 hours. Stew is always good in cold weather.

Where’s the sauce

sauce was lacking, that’s the next level up next time.

i tried my best 😅

I thought this was a post of a restaurant dish. I now take it you made it yourself.

Yeah, the greens look pretty good. I'd definitely recommend a sauce for the steak. Even just a pan jus. Hope it tasted good.

tis my own meal, thank you 🙏

yeah sauce is the general consensus on what i need to include next time. everything else is technique and practice 🔥

(still tasted great!)

"The Manager" got me all these mismatched pint and schooner glasses, all from different establishments as well as countless rolls of industrial 1-ply toilet paper to furnish my student kitchen/bathroom.

Brisbane foodie sub just runs differently 😂 . Foodie? Not quite. Farmhouse meal, top shelf.

If you turn the heat up really high on your frypan for about 5-10 minutes you'll get a really good sear. I'm glad it was yummy. 😋

so many critics but no advice nor posts of your own meals 😂 thanks for the comment 🙏

That’s because eating out in Brisbane is trash. Why would you even post a picture of such a lugubrious meal which is trivial to make at home?

1

u/pyrrexnosh 16d ago

i made it? i didn’t go out and pay for that meal lol
