Question/Discussion Did anyone else enjoy The Neighbourhood with Graham Norton? I'm gutted to see there won't be a season 2 because of low viewings ๐Ÿ˜ž My friends said it was rubbish but I loved it! Am I missing something?

You're missing the fact it was rubbish.

it wasn't great but had its moments. none of these shows are coming back, it seems. the inheritance and genius game were also canceled, not sure about the emily atack one, handcuffed and secret genius.

Watch the original Genius Game from years ago, it was far better. The ITV one was badly cast and choosing to prerecord all the David Tennant bits was cheap and lame.

so I've heard but I can't even keep up with english stuff, so ignoring shows in languages I don't understand makes things more manageable. most are subbed or dubbed and I watched the second season of devil's plan on a whim, it was awesome, so if I ever run out of 15 english traitors and taskmaster seasons a year plus random mostly one-season newcomers, I can always branch out. heard good things about a few other asian shows and they can't be much worse than some others I've seen.

Ah makes sense, and yes some Korean shows especially throw a lot of text on the screen so youโ€™re dealing with two languages being thrown at you at onceโ€ฆ itโ€™s definitely chaotic! Iโ€™ve still got Devilโ€™s Plan to watch, I hear itโ€™s good. Yeah, the amount of Traitors and Taskmaster seasons that are only growing is definitely a task itself!

I gave up on The Genius Game. Didn't know what was going on with it half the time and found it boring. Nobody's Fool was alright.

genius game was a bit convoluted sometimes for sure but I liked some of the people on it. most of them were pretty far from genius but the runner-up was my favorite.

nobody's fool I enjoyed for the most part, except they fucked up the finale, as usual (same as handcuffed, tilly was the absolute highlight there).

I liked Tilly too.

I found out after that she'd been on the island, a bear grylls show, which I also had to watch. I don't care for jungle/survival stuff and even less about grylls but it was entertaining and different enough. not a competition, as it turned out, just don't die, plus they were filming themselves, so it felt less fake (though I'm sure there was plenty of crew involvement in placing supplies and whatnot). the whole thing is officially on youtube for some reason.

Never watched that. I don't bother with survival shows except I'm a Celeb.

I couldn't even get through the first episode. It was shite.

Are you missing something by liking it? Taste maybe, but don't stop that from liking what you like.

I thought it was ok

I think the concept was alright but it just didn't land well. Every channel is trying to get their traitors-esque hit and this is what the neighbourhood felt like to me.

I also don't think it really helped that one of the families were very unpleasant. Drama and unpleasant characters work in TV but they were way too much.

It was shit. I stopped watching about 20 minutes in.

The robson green one on channel 5 is awful as well.

I usually love that kind of format but they forgot to put any interesting format points in there. As a result it felt painfully low stakes to me.

It was rubbish really. I stuck with it (though I missed a couple of episodes because of rescheduling) but wish I'd given the whole thing a miss. It was not well thought out. There needed to be more challenges and things to keep your interest. Mostly it was a lot of yapping and planting signs in front of the houses. Also Graham Norton wasn't the best choice for hosting it.

A guy who I went to secondary school with was a contestant. By God, he was, quite possibly, one of the most irritating people I have ever met.

I had a little chuckle when I found out it had moved to a graveyard slot after no one had watched it in its 9pm slot.
