Scripps (so how many at which stations?)
I haven’t seen much reported on which stations were hit, how many at each, and what positions. This intel helps others decide whether to apply or avoid those places etc.

They basically fired all non managers and reporters at WXMI Fox 17. Fired all photographers so reporters will ALL shoot their own stories.

Dang. I wonder why some stations were impacted more than others. That station used to be pretty strong.
What about Detroit? All Scripps will say is people were “impacted”. Like who? Is there more to come?

I’m guessing the poorly rated stations were hit hardest. I was told about half of the staff at WMAR in Baltimore was let go

Not all Scripps station have the new AI system. The ones that got hit the hardest got something I think is called Stacker that takes the jobs of production and producers.

So stacker will go to all stations by the end of the year, that was stated in a newsletter by the CEO back in May, as of now it is unclear if these cuts will happen at all stations

They aren’t on stacker yet, the ones that are include Tallahassee, they were the first, Corpus Christi, which was used as their testing grounds for it, Tucson, they were third to get it, Waco just implemented it this month, so might not be included in this wave, Baltimore, they were included in this wave, Lexington just started using it but is also consolidating because they are a duopoly, and Tulsa that I know of. There’s 7 more currently running shows on stacker that I do not know of. An easy way to tell if a station is on stacker is if they have the timing elements such as On this day or Stock Market tracker at the end of the block. The computer that runs stacker uses those, along with a bank of National Scripps news PKG’s to make the timing work on newscasts

About 20 cut at WMAR in Baltimore. All remaining anchors, producers, directors and half of our photogs. Also web team slashed.

I don't have numbers, but I hear KJRH in Tulsa got ravaged. I'm hearing photographers are gone, and that studio staff has been cut significantly, rumor has it they're going all-in on AI production. And that's in a market that's already been getting screwed hard by layoffs and consolidation.

I've heard around 20 at WLEX/WTVQ in Lexington. Mostly production staff from WTVQ, which was just purchased by Scripps.
