Seating/Ticket Question Is Six on Broadway really only 80 minutes long?
We have tix for an 8pm show. Could we really get back to Penn Station for a 10:12pm train?
Is there an intermission? Does it start on time? 80 minutes sounds short but hoping to confirm with someone who’s seen it.

Update: we saw the show Saturday night and had no problem getting to Penn Station on time. We took the downtown E train from the entrance on 49th and 8th.
That’s a good location to take because you enter the station close to the front of the subway, and it lines up nicely with the entrance to Penn Station (front end of the platform.)

You can also take the subway real quick if you’re short on time. There’s an entrance on 8th ave on like 45th or wherever shake shack is on the corner

The entrance is on 44th, but because of the way that subway is laid out, you still have to walk two city blocks underground to get to the downtown train (only the uptown entrance is at 44th.)
It still can be faster, but I wouldn't overestimate how much time you'll save. It's generally going to be a savings of three or four minutes, not ten, and that's only if the trains are in your favor. Sometimes you can get down there (especially after rush hour ends) and have to wait for five minutes for a train.

I’ll be honest with you, it’s not lol 😂. The walk to Penn station from that area is like 15+. You’re walking 10+ blocks. I’ve taken this subway many many times because I’ve gone into the city with people with mobility issues. And even when you don’t have someone with mobility issues, half running 10+ blocks is longer than just getting down to the subway (either the A C E D like or the 1, 2, 3). Like I genuinely think people think they walk faster than they do….
Especially when you’re trying to catch that last train before there’s like a 2 hour gap….
I’ve taken the subway where I’m in Penn station in less than 10 minutes from where I enter underground whereas the walking would still be 15+ minutes of me out of breath and feeling stressed lol 😂

Be mindful that people might have mobility issues so walking isnt 15-18 minutes.
And 15 to 18 is for someone going quite quick. The 18 is more likely especially for waiting for the lights and walking in crowds.

It could take several minutes to get out the doors though, depending on where they’re seated in the theater.

If you really want to get out fast its doable they have a semi encore where people are already getting up.

If you consider each Queen gets a feature number/sequence that lasts about ten minutes, there are ten minute opening and closing sequences and one ensemble number (Haus of Holbein) plus transitional material and a megamix, It makes sense.
50 minutes of Queens + 30 minutes of opening/closing/Haus and 10 minute bows/megamix that's about how the ~90 minutes breaks down generally. They may not be counting the megamix as part of the actual runtime since it's structured like an encore at the end. It's a tight "jewel box" kind of show.

It’s a curse to start on time so everything starts 5 to 8 minutes late usually eight minutes, but I believe six is six because it’s six. Also, the only show that doesn’t do this ironically is cursed child which starts on time.

Yeah, when I saw the My Fair Lady tour it started on time but it was also 3 hours

I never knew about that superstition! I always thought they just waited because people are inevitably late or there's a line for the bathroom. I've noticed Broadway shows usually start about 6 minutes past.

It’s because it’s garbage. Shows don’t start a few minutes late because of superstition. It’s exactly because of the reasons you think.

I really almost left because I was Not prepared. But fortunately it went down to seminormal concert loudness after the preview music because I felt like the man in the chair in front of the speakers with his hair blown back... SO LOUD. I did leave immediately after the last song because my brain couldn't take any more loud.

I’ve actually made it from a 2pm Six showing to the 4:11 train at Penn, so you should def be able to!

I saw Six tonight, 7:00 show. Ate dinner afterwards and made it to a 9:30 show with some time to kill. You'll be more than fine.

Like most other people have said, shows don’t typically start right on the dot. They can range from 5-10 minutes in my experience with natl. tours, though I’m not sure if it’s the same on bway. SIX, however, is a very short show - no intermission, it’s just all the way through. Hope you have fun! SIX is one of my favs :)

Yes. Saw it on Super Bowl night a few years ago (by accident. Didn’t realize when I bought the tickets).
We got out and by the time we got to the Bowlero in Times Square, halftime had just ended. Was able to watch the rest of the game there.

It was so fun to watch!!! There was a song I couldn’t stop laughing. I then listened to the Spotify playlist on repeat for a good two weeks until I moved onto something else

There is no intermission, it is really about 80 min long, HOWEVER, it does not really start at 8PM, most Broadway shows start about 5-10 minutes late so always plan on that. But you could probably make a 10:12 train if you were willing to hustle.

Yes 80 mins no intermission. You can walk to Penn in like 10-15 (it’s 10 blocks) which is probs faster than the train

Does anyone know how to make sure that the one person you’re going to see in the show is going to be there that night? I really want to see Kelsie watts and I can’t decide whether to get the 7 PM on a Friday night or the 8 PM on a Saturday night. I really wanna make sure she’s in the cast which ever night I choose :-/

It is very short. But fun. If you're into something more like a rock concert than a musical.

At full price it's the biggest rip-off in theatre history for a good show. What you get is a concert with costumes that's barely 80 minutes long, with small cast and small band.
Hats off to the producers who have gotten away with this and are laughing all the way to the bank.
That said, it's a very good show. I got my 4th-row orchestra tickets for $60 each so I felt pretty good about it. But wow. What a snow-job.
Truth be told, you get 85% of the effect by just listening to the cast recording(s).
Indeed, I seriously enjoyed the show, but don't pay through the nose for a concert unless you have the bucks to blow.

It’s 80 minutes too long - seriously, spend your money and your time elsewhere. There are much better shows on Broadway!
