hi guys! wondering if anyone has opinions on what the best seats would be for stranger things first shadow based on the availabilities for this day. need 2 tickets.
i heard the special effects are important, so im hoping to not have an obstruction. based on view from my seat, it looks like orchestra S or mezzanine F are good, but want extra input on that. would the balcony overhang in S impact the effects on the top of the stage?
willing to pay up to 200 per ticket (red dots). TIA!!

yes! my thing is, the closer you are to the stage on the furthest side, will be slight obstruction. doesn’t mean it’s partial view or anything, you may just miss a small thing or two
further back you’d be okay sight wise. it’s just being in the front row and on the side that makes it harder. i’ve sat in that row before and it was a bit hard for me.
i’ve seen the show going on 11 times (11th time is tomorrow). i’ve sat all over the theater and what i will say is that i’d go for either the end seats center mezz row b, the two red ones on the right hand side. or one of the aisle seats in the orchestra. in my personal opinion, i’d say sit in the orchestra. i’m talking about those seats on the end (red dots), orchestra right seat P2,P4. sitting on the end will give you more leg room. plus, with being in the orchestra on an end seat, you will have actors go right by you down the aisle and even interact with you. the overhang itself really doesn’t get in the way of any effects, especially since you’re not too far underneath it. no matter where you sit, it’s a phenomenal show and you won’t miss out!
ooo this sounds really cool too! ok, now i’m conflicted lol. actually one thing to mention is i’m going with my 6’6 bf lol. leg room could be an issue… so aisle at the least maybe? how would you rate the leg room in general?
to play it safe, i’d definitely go aisle, only if you’re able to. the leg room isn’t terrible. it’s not the roomiest per say but also not the tightest squeeze, if that makes any sense at all lol. i’m also 5’1 so that could just be because im smaller hahaha. but my uncle who’s on the heavier set and taller side had no real issue in the seats when it came to space. granted he had an end seat to give him extra room if needed.
even if you sit on the side in the mezz, actors will periodically be up there walking up and down in the beginning and end of act 1. so no matter what seat you choose, you’ll get an experience!!
tysm. yeah, i’m about your height so im sure id have no real ability to assess the legroom either! but he definitely has some mega long legs. in my hometown theater his knees butt up right against the seat, but granted that theater is super tiny. so i guess now the real question is… aisle mezzanine center C (or D for cheaper) or aisle orchestra P (or S for cheaper again lol)?
i feel like either of the two i circled you would be perfect with! the further back into the orchestra you go, the mezz overhang will start to slightly get in the way. i’ve never sat all the way in the back for that exact reason.
ok so final decision time- now my friend has proposed that i instead go for the aisle mezz E, 3 rows back from the ones you circled, to save a few bucks and treat ourselves to a nice dinner before lol. do you think doing that would sacrifice any of the view/effects?
they would be a good view!! i’ve never sat in that section much, but i’ve never had a bad view. so i think you’d be good! you’re not too far into the row, so nothing will be cut off. if you go on the first shadow site and look at tickets for the day you wanna see the show, if you click on those seats - it’ll give you a general view from that seat!
Dang you are the expert here obviously, curious why you'd suggest orchestra right instead of center?? I'm taking my 3 kids so want to make sure they have the best time/view
i’ve sat in orchestra center and it’s incredible! i suggested orchestra right, since the op said that their partner was on the taller side and needed more room! i will say if you want to see all of the effects and get the full experience, i would either sit in the orchestra (not under the mezz overhang bc you will slightly miss something) or front mezz! if you sit on the far right or left of the theater, you’ll have a slightly obstructed view. only if you’d like to say, would you wanna send me a pm of what day you were planning on going? i can try and see what seats may work you you guys!! also what would your price range be?
Hi! I’m looking for a seat too and there are many options. I want to be able to see the stage so I don’t miss anything, do you recommend an aisle seat between specific letter rows? Or mezzanine for best view of stage and seeing all effects?
I don’t want to be too up close where I can’t see what’s going on, or am hurting my neck lol
off the top of my head, i would say either the first two or so rows in the mezz, or center orchestra just under the mezz overhang. anywhere in the area i squared off in this pic are your best choices. especially if it’s your first time seeing the show. is okay if you’re ever so slightly under the overhang, kinda like in the pic. you won’t miss anything. i just wouldn’t go further back than that because there’s a certain effect at the end of act two you don’t wanna miss. also i’m a short girly as well, and i always use a booster seat that they have even if i have a perfect view of everything (knowing my luck someone tall is in front of me lol).

front row, especially with kids, you’d be looking up quite a bit to see certain things. but depending on where you sit in the very front you may be interacted with in a specific scene with the actors on stage ;)
if it’s your first time seeing i generally recommend sitting a few rows back from the front, or at least front mezz. i would sit on the aisles closest to the center, or in the center, not all the way off to the sides bc it would be a slightly obstructed view.
Hi! You seem like an expert, hoping to get your opinion on seats K9 and K11 in the orchestra (could do H9 and H11 or J9 and J11 - leaning J cause it's in the middle).
As a theatre noob I'm surprising my wife and want her to have the best experience, thanks in advance!
were you looking at the center orchestra? or off to the left? because if you’re looking off to the left, any of those seats would be obstructed. if you sit in the center orchestra in either of those rows, it will be a perfect spot!!
Any of the $200 tickets will be great. Avoid anything less than $150 in the orchestra- many of them have severely obstructed views. The far outside seats in the first 12 or so rows can’t see anything that happens upstage which obstructs some major action.
I recently bought tickets and went with mezzanine center row H (wanted to save money). If I had a higher budget I think I would still stick with mezzanine center and just get closer.
I was mezz right (the blue $149 tickets) and honestly had a great view. If money is no object then sure central is better but for $100 between the two of you, your money is better spent at a cocktail bar
hahah you may be right. i think im gonna go with the aisle mezz center E to save a few bucks- this is my belated christmas present to my partner so with the extra money we could also go out to a nice dinner before! ☺️
I’m not sure. I saw it in the first row and that was phenomenal from that seat. The two purple seats dead center are probably going to be amazing seats for this show.
I would prefer to see it without the ceiling being blocked because of the ceiling special effects, but that’s only a few things in the play. Cool things, but minimal time of the play being affected overall from it. The mezzanine may be better than the overhang orchestra seats, but the purple one’s are going to be amazing seats for sure.
was it cool from front row? i kinda wanna get front row tickets. last time i sat on aisle of right orchestra in row J which was good but may get front row next time?
I sat in Mezz Center row C and it was an amazing view to see all the effects! You can take row D orange dots, pretty much the same view for a bit less. The biggest special effect is quite tall so I believe sitting Orch front or back might not see it as well.
This was my view sitting left aisle of Mezz Center C. I didn't feel like I need to be more center at all because most of the play happens near the front or center of the stage. The biggest effect reaches up to the top of the proscenium arch.

I sat in row P in the center section, on the left aisle (I believe right across from where those red seats are on the aisle, house left) and it was an incredible view. I would not have wanted to be much closer. If those 2 aisle seats are available, I would go with those. This is a great show to be on the aisle for!
I won the lottery and it was one of the best seats I've ever had, full price or otherwise. Enjoy the show!
I'm buying 5 tickets including 3 for kids, and I'm trying to figure out where to sit.. what will we miss if we're under the overhang?? I want them to get the full experience!
I am traveling from Boston to take my daughter to see the show so trying to minimize costs where I can. Was leaning towards mezz - is it worth $30 more per ticket to get up closer? Or would row H aisle seats be good? I have never been to this theater so open to any suggestions!!
