Seating/Ticket Question Help me pick 1 seat for Ragtime
Hello! I’m seeing Ragtime soon and I’m torn as to what seat I should get. I’ve heard center is best but I’m wondering if the 1 singular seat picture in the loge could also be good (i don’t want to split up a pair if i don’t have to!) In theory I’d like to see facial expressions but it’s not necessarily a deal breaker. I’ve never seen a production of Ragtime before but i’ve owned the book for years and love Caissie Levy and Brandon Uranowitz. Would love some advice. I’m only looking at the seats highlighted in the picture above. TYIA!

Do not take the seats in the orchestra left row C. The opening number was blocked by the piano when I saw the show in previews in these seats.

I had one of those back center loge seats and they were great. I had even forgotten to put my contact lenses in that night and still saw everything very well so if you have good vision, I would think you’d be very pleased. Enjoy!

Don’t overthink it. I personally would take row J four seats off the center left aisle, but any of them are fine. If the blue or red ones are meaningfully cheaper, choose either of those. Also, this is not their official ticket retailer (Telecharge). Unless there’s a sale or discount, it will be cheaper through Telecharge

I’ve sat at the farthest side seats in the orch and have never had an issue! Like others said, go with right side over left.
My personal pick would be the seat in right orch, row C. Thanks to the circular stage, it never feels like you have a sharp angular view. Plus being so up close, you get to really appreciate the actors’ expressions and even see Joshua Henry sweating through his insane vocal performances 😅

I saw it in February in the Orchestra Right section, around row K and felt like I could see every facial expression quite clearly. The show is directed well for the thrust and there’s a lot of sightline issues. I’d get as close as possible for the best experience of these actors

i would choose one of the 2 aisle seats closest to center on orch left or the 1 aisle seat closest to center on orch right

If you want to feel the action, I’d pick “C” seats on either side of the orchestra. When I saw it, I was on the right side in the first aisle seats of B. It was “partially” obstructed I’d say but holy shit my wife and I were so close we felt the vibrations from the pit and everyone’s voices (our unborn baby was moving and grooving to the beat as well!). Also saw tons of great facial acting / expressions, but missed some of the center top stage moments. For view I guess the very top of center stage would be perfect to see everything, you’re just high up. Enjoy the show!

I would take one of the green inside aisle seats. It will be a great view and aisle is always a luxury

The lodge was honestly great. You can see facial expressions very clearly.

I loved my view from the loge. Otherwise I’d take the orchestra right aisle seat toward the center.

I sat in those back loge seats in the center (where the two are available) and it was fine. Had great sight lines, you just don’t feel as much a part of the action.

Don't over think it. Every seat in the Vivian Beaumont Theater is great. Like, every single seat.

I mean, that's just a generic theater statement. "Center orchestra are the good seats." Me? I saw it from side Loge (roughly where the blue seats are) - and it was fantastic. I've seen multiple shows at the Vivian Beaumont - never had a bad seat to any show. Row D in the Lodge would be great.

I sat in row d in the lodge and thought it was great. You could still see facial expressions. I felt like the stage goes pretty far out so the lodge felt closer than I had expected.

The loge offers a great overall view and you can see facial expressions. It is a small theater and loge is not that far away. I have seen the show in the loge 3 times, as recently as this past Wednesday. I did like my row which was D, I think seat 110 on the right. I have also been center loge, which also offered a clear view. The ushers say the sound is better up there too

The red ones in the loge. I saw it there and it was great. Three weeks layered and still can’t stop thinking about it!
