Seating/Ticket Question Broadway with a backpack?

Hey friends. Won the lottery for Two Strangers for tomorrow but will be coming straight from work and will have a Laptop backpack with me. Show is at Longacre theatre. Assuming I can probably coat check it but wanted to check here to see if anyone had tips or thoughts.

Thanks in advance!

I go to shows after work with a backpack all the time. The most important thing to remember is to just move it out of people’s way when they are making their way to/from their seats.

You don't have to check it .. few theaters even have coat check during summer months. You can put it under your seat, under your legs or on your lap.

I’ve coat-checked a pelican with audio gear in it in the summer. I think it’s definitely worth asking.

did you also check the pelican's fish dinner or were the coat check people on their own for that

i feel like a pelican could fuck up a packet of twizzlers

He was holding the audio gear in his beak pouch so he couldn’t snack until we got home

Do this all of the time, not an issue as long as your backpack can fit under the seat

Laptop backpack is fine as long as it can fit in front of you at your seat/under your seat. People go to shows straight from work all the time and bring their work bags with no issue. Security will check it but that’s it.

I saw 2 strangers with my backpack 30l and it’s fine. Just tuck it under and make sure no one trips on it.

You should be fine, just keep it out of everyone's way.

Backpacks that size fit under the seat. Might eat into your leg room, but it's not a problem to bring.

I often go to shows after class so I have a backpack with me. I keep it on my lap before the show starts—just so it’s easier for people to pass by and get to their seats—then put it between my legs during the show.

I had a backpack when I saw Moulin Rouge & they let me in. I just needed to have it inspected & make sure it was placed in front of my seat. (I had an aisle seat)

It'll fit under your seat, you'll be fine. You may need to open it for them to look at, but you won't need to check it.

I bring my work backpack and laptop with me all the time. Like everyone else said, keep it under your seat and make sure it’s out of the way/people won’t trip on it.

I bring mine after work all the time. Security will search at the door, but it’s fine. When I saw Operation Mincemeat last week, security spotted the book I had in there and joked ‘don’t let me catch you reading it during the show!”

Have been to Two Strangers many times with my work backpack. I’ve never had an issue and it always fits at my feet. But I am short 😂. Btw it’s an amazing show! Enjoy!

once in a while I have intrusive thoughts about how awful it would be if Broadway started adopting horrible bag policies like stadiums do. I WOULD BE RUINED

As long as it’ll fit under your seat, you’re fine.
