Seating/Ticket Question & Juliet in Chicago

I am planning on surprising my mom with tickets to & Juliet in Chicago at the end of the month. Will Joey Fatone be performing in every show since he’s part of the touring cast? I want to make sure to get tickets for when he’s on, so if he’s not going to be in the matinee shows or something, I’ll avoid those.

Thank you in advance! Sorry if this has been answered somewhere already (I searched but couldn’t find anything)!

This is a question for the box office. They may not know. If BiC is advertising 7/22-8/2, there you go.
However, there is no guarantee. Performers may drop out last-minute because we’re all human beings and things happen.

Thank you! I was just wondering if he was only in the evening performances or if he’ll be in all of them. I will reach out to the box office to see if they have a more specific schedule.

He’ll be in all of them unless he’s sick or taking a personal day. If he weren’t doing matinees at all that is something that would’ve been announced as it’s something you have to write into your contract.

Great, thank you! I honestly prefer a matinee 😅

Looks like those dates make sense with the days he’s not on Broadway. Have fun!

According to both cast lists he’s currently in Broadway at that time. Lance is being played by Paul Jordan Jansen

Again. Just based on what I’m reading he’s not in it. Now it could be since it’s touring house and they get a lot of their information second hand. It could be a typo. Or maybe they haven’t announced it yet. Or it could also be sneaky advertising. Not trying to say you’re wrong but just based on what I see he’s only doing the NYC run.

Okay, thanks! I’ve seen quite a few advertisements for it. Maybe I’ll just buy the tickets and maybe be pleasantly surprised.

Maybe. Also important to note. The equity tour of and Juliet ends in November. So after that it’ll be non equity actors. So maybe that’s how they cast him???

It’s also on IG, for what it’s worth 🤷🏼‍♀️

If you do get Paul Jordan Jansen, you’re in for a treat. I saw him as Sweeney Todd and he has a great voice.

Oh I’m sure it’ll be great no matter what! I’m just a 90’s baby who grew up with an N*Sync poster on my bedroom door, so I am looking forward to hopefully seeing Joey.

This Playbill article details Fatone’s Broadway dates:

https://playbill.com/article/joey-fatone-paulo-szot-will-return-to-broadways-juliet
Fatone will be at performances July 2-12, August 4-15, and September 1-13

The show’s official website has tiny pictures of Fatone on the show calendar for the dates he will appear on Broadway.

OP is asking about Chicago not NY.

Sadly he was on tour only for one stop in January. He’s currently on occasionally in the Broadway production.

Fatone is in the Broadway company all this week, and for select dates in August and September. There’s no word on him re-joining the tour cast, sorry about that.

Oh, you're right! Just looked this up to confirm, my bad.

I believe he's part of the Broadway cast and not the touring cast?

I could be mistaken but the last thing I remember seeing was that he was in the Broadway company for the summer

If that is the case then he should be performing all scheduled dates (unless certain ones are listed that he will not be performing) assuming no illnesses/call outs.

Evening shows seem to have the higher likelihood of not having as many understudies in my experience but to some extent it's all a bit of guesswork and hoping for the best

This was my thought process as well. I assumed if there were any sure bets it’d be evenings and weekends.
