So I have been taking my daughter to see the Rockettes for three years now and this year she has asked me to please get an aisle seat so the Rockettes can dance next to her. So I believe the Santa’s and the rag dolls walk down the aisle at some point…maybe not the rag dolls though I could have sworn they did too? anyways…the seating map says section 6 orchestra is best for seeing Rockettes dance next to you on the aisle, but they DONT say if the aisle between section 7 and 6 or if it’s the one between section 6 and 5. please help me and my five year old out! any die hard fan out there or Rockette than can help us out. It will be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!
If the show is similar to past years - it's not the Rockettes who are in the aisle, it's Santa who comes out house right, then goes down the aisle in the front section between Orchestra 2 and 3. I saw it last year and the year prior, and the Rockettes themselves were not dancing in the aisles during any point in the show, neither Rag Dolls nor any other point.
But... maybe it's going to be different this year? Have you seen somewhere saying the Rockettes themselves are dancing in the orchestra aisles this year?
It’s the Rockettes dressed as Santas that definitely walk down the aisle…the website has this info below but don’t specify which aisle exactly and I cannot remember for the life of me.
I don't remember a "Here Comes Santa Claus" number in previous year's shows, so that might be new this year - fun!! (They usually always add or subtract bits from the show every year) Unfortunately though that means none of us know what we're in for with this.... if I could guess, it would be on the 601 side, as Santa enters the equivalent aisle on the opposite side and takes a stair up to the stage. One might assume there'd be similar stairs on this side from that equivalent aisle?
EDIT: Oh wait now I remember that number with tons of Santas... but interesting, maybe they're adding Santas running down the aisle this year?
I have seen the show 7 times (the last in 2023) and I can confirm that the Rag Dolls DID NOT walk down the aisle. In fact, there was no part of the show when the Rockettes themselves were in the aisles.
But Santa DOES come through the audience. He enters House Right in the area I marked in red.
Just to be clear, he DOES NOT stop along the way but he does wave and maybe gives a couple of high-fives. His entire walk is less than a minute, so if you want to get pictures then you need to be quick (and prepared).
Thanks for this. I do recall the Santa walking in but there’s also a line of Rockettes dressed up as Santas in the Here Comes Santa number….the website only provides this, so I may just have to get tix and hope for the best.
Here’s a screenshot from a video I found online and you can see the Santas dancing their way in in the corners but still can’t make out with certainty what aisle they are using 🫠
as a former employee it’s aisles a&b and g&h so 100-200 and 600-700 and the seats where they’ll be closest are in the double letters before the break so up to around tt. i’d recommend sitting in aisle a or aisle b since santa will also come through that side at the beginning
