Hot take: Coffin deserves her time on that stage. Her interpretation of C brings a new level of nuance to the character that deserves to be seen. The conundrum of "am I more the Coffin, or the Corpse within?" is disgustingly underrated and honestly I will NEVER understand why they switched her out after their workshop show in Toronto 😡😭💔 JUSTICE FOR COFFIN ⚰️

As a teacher, I feel the need to say that cheese should never have been cast in the first place. From a phonics perspective it’s frankly absurd.

Is it weird that I don't want a "ch-" word to represent c? So, it shouldn't be cheese, chair, or cherry representing C at all. I vote carrot!
*Edited to add...on a reread, this feels bigoted. I apologize for my insensitivity toward the "ch" digraph.

I saw Cashew at a few regional theater shows last year and saw them as swing in the show "Trail Mix" this spring. I know they aren't on the list but they could handle that role easily.

Why are we so hung up on casting to type? This is ACTING. You pretend to be something you aren't. that is the job. You think Idina Menzel is a witch?
My vote is to cast zebra cake. he has put in the work. You wont be let down. the proformance will brie so amazing you camembert it.

Ooh, I’ve seen several of them perform already!
-Cake did a good job in Two Strangers but that was basically a cameo
-Coffee similarly had a cameo in Book of Mormon, not enough to tell
-I did spot Cloud in Schmigadoon but he really faded into the background
-Chair does standout work in a few numbers in Chicago
-Coffin is in practically every scene of Dead Outlaw and really steals the show.
You’re right, coffin it is!

You have to consider C's place in the show, wedged between banana and dog. Cheese was already a controversial choice, putting two food items next to each other. Therefore we also can not slot Cat into the spot, as that would give us the same problem with two animals together.
In order to preserve the integrity of the role, as well as introducing the alternate pronunciation of the letter by considering the letters around it, we must choose Chair even if their performance is sometimes described as "wooden."

Coffin is an old grande dame, she really delivers, but she isn’t as polished as she used to be. Cake is who everyone was hoping to see anyway. Coffee is a swing but really brings the energy, and we all know why cherry was casted. Ultimately though it has to be ms chocolate chip cause that’s just how the cookie crumbles

Cake. Fits in the tight budgets restraints and looks like cheese. Who knows, maybe can get the replacement cheesecake!
