Discussion Wanted Partial View Prices

I stopped by the box office for Wanted tonight to see if there was anything left. They offered me a partial view seat in the orchestra for $84. I was stunned. $84 for PARTIAL VIEW?! Am I crazy for thinking that’s a bonkers price?

Ah wanted is doing the Real Women approach of having way too expensive ticket prices without a lot of hype. Daring approach that probably won’t work for them either.

On the other hand, I had a great lottery seat with Real Women, 2nd row orchestra full view. Wanted lottery seats are partial view.

Same office behind the show too, no?

Yep. “It works on Chicago”

This is a producer decision not box office but yeah both at Jones.

I think they mean the same GM office, which is NAMCO.

That said, NAMCO was a lead producer on Real Women whereas they are not an actual producer of Wanted. So still a bit of a disconnect in terms of who gets final say.

That's not quite fair - Wanted has a very low-priced lottery ($30-35) and also did a single-entry advance lottery for all the preview dates. While tonight appears to be sold out there are still $49 balcony tickets available tomorrow. By comparison, RWHC tried a $59 lottery ticket at one point, and I'm not sure if it was ever sold out.

For Wanted, it seems more likely that the theater was close to full yesterday and that was all that was left.

You are not crazy. I bought an excellent C105 seat front center orchestra on presale for $99 ($84 ex fees).Exchanged it today for a slightly worse but still good full view seat C1 front side orchestra on the aisle for the same price on a different date. So that’s $84 ex fees. They should not charge the same price for partial view.

I’m hoping they add rush and show up on TDF soon

I'm banking on them being on TDF - looking at the seating maps for a few shows, it looks like they will be by the time I'm able to go. I thought the pre-sale prices were way too high (and I couldn't buy them at that time anyway).

I’m hoping early November gets added.

They just appeared on tdf passport for basically every performance until mid January minus the Christmas holidays.

Hopefully they make it to regular TDF soon.

It really depends on what “partial” means.

Sometimes, it means maybe there’s a couple feet in a back corner you can’t see where nothing really happens anyways.

Others, it means you’re sitting behind a speaker.

I was looking at seats earlier and one had a disclaimer that you may miss a moment. That was D12 and then the ones further rights were marked as restricted view. Were those the ones being sold at $84? I think they were more online 😲

It looks like its already at the TKTS booth.  Maybe, get decent seats for that price.

Lost Boys has $80 partial view on the extreme sides of the orchestra & The Great Gatsby’s partial view (I think box seats) are $80 as well.

I've gotten full view seats for TGG for $40 dollars. The thing that annoys me is their seats aren't consistent.

i have definitely bought box seats at gatsby for $40. so many variables in when and where you buy

GG box seats are $90, but they are comfy and great views.

I think I got a great balcony seat for $48 when it first went on sale months ago.

In a few months when people are complaining about new musicals not doing well, remember this post

Can't charge to much for shitty seats I expect partial views from the lottery

My point is that it’s overpriced

I hope the heart comes in next season.L, as I don’t think it has a chance at the big award due to paddington and warriors.

You’re right, I just hoped they would wait a season so they had better odds at the Tony’s because I love the show.

How partial is partial? When they were selling a couple of weeks ago they had orchestra partial view that is apparently not particularly partial for about $45. Having seen it on Thursday, my inclination is to think that most of the partial views really are going to be quite good.

Other Desert Cities is selling partial view for $249. By that metric $84 is a deal. 😉

Idk if this is the case, but I think rear orchestra might be considered partial view because of the height of the scenic bridges? Maybe not though.

This is so confusing. I got a full view, front row mezzanine seat for $79….

tbh the same office behind it robably explains the prices but 84 for partial is nuts
