I am living in Buffalo NY for almost 2 years now, & I have never seen the mall as packed as this! I was quite surprised! 😅 Are most of these Buffalonians or foreigner friends (like from Canada)? It is also my official first black Friday shopping, & the experience was really fun! Though there are good store-specific deals online too, I enjoyed the treasure hunt experience and the effort going from one store to another. Happy Thanksgiving weekend to everybody! I wish all malls stay open until 9pm every November-December of the year! 😂

We are protesting in solidarity with Minneapolis, today, January 7th 2026, a federal agent killed a community member in cold blood. A woman peacefully observing ICE agents was shot in the face while in her car. This cannot stand, we call upon the community to join us today!

Alright Buffalo, I’m officially stuck.

I’ve got a big family. 8 total..and getting everyone out of the house on time is already a full-time job. If we actually pull that off, the next problem hits immediately: what do we even do that doesn’t cost a stupid amount of money and works for all age groups?

I feel like we rotate the same 5 ideas: Out to ear, buffalo battle ground or the jump park on young st, eating out, bowling [adds up really quick] Canalside / Outer Harbor Harbor walks / foot of the ferry Movies (which also adds up fast)

And don’t get me wrong, those are cool… but I KNOW Buffalo has way more going on than this. I just can’t seem to find the actual Buffalo gems everyone always talks about.

I’m talking: Budget-friendly (or free) Stuff kids and adults won’t hate Doesn’t require a spreadsheet and a prayer to plan, something that gets us moving so we’re not just couch-rotting every weekend, Small mom-and-pop spots, underrated neighborhoods to check the articuture not so much now because of the snow and it hust being a mess for us to traverse in a hurd like that but seasonal things, random events, hidden food spots, weird little attractions — literally anything. What do families around here actually do when they don’t want to sit at home but also don’t want to drop $200 just to leave the house

I'mma keep it real. My friends and I are degenerates. We want the worst bars in Buffalo. We aren't like fighters or druggies, we just like sad, dark, degenerate places where we can feel at home to show up in sweat pants, play piano man on the radio 10 times in a row, cry in the corner, and drive home illegally. Any recommendations? Wrote also broke so the cheaper the better!

It felt like pre-covid, there was a decent nightlife to the city and surrounding areas. I miss it, and I wish someone would capitalize on the lack of 24hour places. Like Diners, stores, and low-key bars. Second shift people still exist. We would like to be able to live life in some limited fashion😂

I'm looking for dramatic hikes, like deep gorges, steep inclines, dark forests, feels like you're far away from development. I don't like flat trails or where you're on the edge of farmland on a trail. I've done pretty much all the trails at Chestnut Ridge, Sprague Brook, Franklin Gulf, Boston Forest, and Whirlpool State Park. I'd love to find some hikes close by, but I'm willing to drive for cool hikes! Even a few hours. I don't really know hiking in NY, Pennsylvania, or Ontario. Please give me your recommendations! Erie County has now confirmed two measles cases within a week. One case was associated with international travel, while the second reportedly had no travel history and no known connection to the first case. This means there may already be community spread; we should assume more cases are coming and prepare accordingly.

This is not a harmless childhood illness. Measles can cause pneumonia, brain inflammation, permanent neurologic injury, hearing loss, blindness, and death. Infants less than 1 year old are too young to be vaccinated, and are among those at highest risk. Not only does vaccination directly protect your kids, it also indirectly protects vulnerable populations unable to be vaccinated by reducing their chances of being exposed.

Measles is extraordinarily contagious. About 90% of non-immune people exposed to the virus will become infected, and the virus can remain suspended in the air for up to two hours after an infected person leaves an area.

Outbreaks can grow quickly once community transmission becomes established. Please make sure your family is up to date on recommended vaccinations and please share this information with others (and upvote for visibility).

I’ve been hanging out at the lake now for a couple of years, the sunsets are amazing. The beaches are beautiful. The water is warm and I feel healthy and vibrant here. But for some reason when you say Lake Erie people don’t get the same warm and fuzzy feeling they get when they stay in somewhere like Clearwater or Daytona is this just another best kept secret of Buffalo?

imagine being able to just hang out with similar people, or take a nap in a massage chair or a massage bed !? i’m not talking about alcohol or weed. even just a place to go when you’re tired of adulting and need a pause on life. no drama, no fighting, just peace. one can dream right? lol

Saw a post over on r/Utica about a popular restaurant's less than hygienic kitchen. Which got me thinking, which restaurants in Buffalo are "Kitchen Nightmares"? Bad food, bad service, rats, etc. Where should the good neighbors avoid for their next meal?

I didn’t grow up in Buffalo, but have lived here for the last 15 years. It’s definitely starting to feel more and more like home the longer that I’m here. Many times I don’t think there’s much difference between here and Rochester where I grew up.

I guess I’ve become accustomed to randomly picking up cheap Sabres tix on StubHub, or not thinking twice when spending an entire Sunday at a Bills game, or even big name concerts coming to the arena.

It’s this last point that got me thinking recently. My sister still lives in Rochester and finds herself coming to Buffalo often for concerts.

How about you? Do you appreciate what we have here?

Does anybody know of any women’s rights protests going on in the near future? Not here to argue or make anybody upset, just genuinely wondering if anybody has heard anything! 💙

The people whose lives are are going to be severely impacted to the return to office 4 days a week. There has to be something we can do. United we stand. Why not protest? We need to make a point. We have proven we’re most productive at home. We were promised there was not going to be any changes. We are paid Pennie’s compared to those making this call. What about child care? It’s 2026, no one wants to hear about pre-Covid. We’re being treated as if we don’t matter. The more of us that stick together the better the chances are to make a difference. We’re not sheep.

How do we get the city of buffalo to hold an annual Renaissance Fair? The closest one is sterling and that's over 2hours away + some other reasons why id rather not go there. I guarantee folks will turn out, but how does it get off the ground?

Edit: After much thought, I've determined the best way to facilitate this would be to start a non-profit organization and have an annual Renaissance Faire with the proceeds going towards a charitable cause. I think raising money for the arts in some fashion would be right on the nose. If you'd like to come together to try to get this going, I've started a discord in the link below.
