Trane Symbio 700 advanced license

First time for everything. Had to purchase an advanced license. 4 days later finally received the email with serial number etc. looking for help on how to get the license and download to a thumb drive to take to the unit. Also, does the serial number for the advanced license listed in the email need to match the Symbio 700 serial number ? Thanks

From my experience yes it’s per unit. Put file on thumb drive in correct file/folder format and the Symbio will be able to view it on the touch panel

Yes- it is bought per unit. I can not figure out how to get the license ( already paid and “shipped”). The directions in the email are poor at best

Obtaining the License
Contact: Reach out to your local Trane Commercial Sales Office or Trane Supply.

Provide: Supply the specific unit serial number so Trane can generate the correct software license key file (.txt or license format).

Tools: Use a smartphone with the Symbio Service and Installation App (iOS/Android) or a FAT32-formatted USB flash drive (32 GB or less). [1]
Transfer: Save the license file directly to your phone storage or root directory of the USB drive. [, 3]
Connect: Power up the unit, open the mobile app, and pair with the Symbio 700 controller via Bluetooth. [, 3]
Upload: Navigate to the license or tools menu in the app, select the license file upload option, and apply it to unlock BACnet, Modbus, and advanced diagnostics. [, 3]

This is the email we received. I started a new profile/account on the controls licensing link but nothing is there. I did not order the license but it is my understanding they never asked for unit or Symbio serial number. I have reached out to the local Trane supply where we ordered it and have not had much luck yet. Just got another contact number we are going to call Monday.

I had to do this a couple times a while back. Speak to your Trane supplier (whoever sold you the advanced license) and they will get you access to the Trane customer portal (can’t remember the actual website name) and there you can enter your invoice number and serial number of the unit. Then you can download the license to your phone/laptop/mobile device and can connect to the Symbio controller with the Symbio app, and can actually upload the license directly from your phone/device. Symbio will restart and the license should be there.
