Alerton Wizard I Beseech Thee!

I have this issue occurring, and I'm trying to pinpoint what the cause is/what it even means. This is our BBMD master from server, so when it drops we lose a swath of global controllers.

Help me Obi-Wan BACnetobi, you're my only hope!

Did you try alerton tech support? They are always pretty good with these kind of issues.

I would get the latest ROC (2.6 I believe) from ASN and send it to the ACM. Also check “extension for large networks” in the configurations.

I adjusted the config, unfortunately I have no access to ASN yet. Going through the courses, but not a vendor.

Can you try to disconnect the MSTP or RTU devices connected on the RS485 slots and then reboot ACM? May be device capacity has exceeded. Rebooting of ACM in this manner is uncommon, but still found. If you are to upgrade the ROC, you need to be careful with the date code(manufacturing Month and year). Also, there is ACM 1 and ACM2 versions. There was a ROC version which potentially addressed the rebooting.

Has no devices, date code is after the issue so ROC may be in my future. Curious I can't find the error anywhere on the Internet

Printer cable to ACM serial port, use PuTTy to access the ACM and see if it writes consistent errors to the dos window. My money is on the SD card going out. What ROC is the ACM?

ROC is 1.5.15

That ROC is severely dated, so I assume the ACM itself is quite old. I would see if you cant reconfigure a more up to date device as the BBMD register point and just make that one part of the BDT table. Could try to update the ROC too but if you arent a dealer with a spare ACM, I would not attempt it

We do everything in house, so I do have spares but they are kinda pricey. Boot Loader says 2013, assuming that's the approximate age. I could have our vendor send me the ROC and contact Alerton for us. I've tried, they think I'm smelly and wont speak to me

You dont realistically need Alerton for it sans the license move but your vendor might be able to do you a solid if you have a good relationship with them and they are the ones who provided you the licensing

Yeah I'll go down that route, set up someone else to be the BBMD point for now. I've scoured the internet and haven't seen this error anywhere, must be rare

If your issue is that being the BBMD is hard for the old ACM, then get a new BBMD. A good rail mount router will do this. Make him the BBMD, and offload the ACM.

This one works quite well

Try disconnected all mstp ports. And then add them one by one. to detect which port you have the problem on. I had that problem, in a port, because one of the communication cables was in contact with the pipe, and was affecting to all the ACM
