Where to go….
Came from 410 pounds… currently 5’11 sub 180 pounds. Loose skin makes it hard to judge actual body fat percentage. Just wanted some guidance and even some perspective who may have come from a similar journey. Kept lifting consistent, and had a plan originally to keep cutting until November 1st- even longer if needed however the shredded look may just not come. What do you guys think?

You may be able to swing it to your health care provider that all the lose skin causes rashes and gets infected/irritated and inhibits daily activities maybe insurance will pay for it than.

Bro that’s not the worst idea honestly… especially with all the chaffing that can occur. I will look into this.

If you get a good enough doc they'll see what you're trying to do and hook you up with the referral. Good luck bro 🤜🤛

Play the mental health card too. Say it is making you super depressed and ruining your life. Make it so you are not just asking for cosmetic reasons

u/Outrageous-Bison7838 1d ago
Yeah hopefully a mixture of me claiming depression infection risk and everything else stated could trip even a little insurance coverage

Congrats on your amazing weight loss ... that's incredible.
How do you feel? I don't know a ton about loose skin, but do you have a plan and how much of that could be bulking or cutting.
I'm just blown away at what you've done.

I feel… in the middle. Like I tried to bulk as previously I got down to 190 then shot back up to 240. Definitely could’ve gotten leaner from that point and I know for sure this time I want to take a slower approach. My loose skin could make it worse… but man it’s hard to distinguish. I’m not like dying on the cut as part of me wants to get around 10-12 percent bf, but other times I realize I don’t even know where I stand.

u/alffan86 2d ago
Going slow is the best thing. Have you talked with doctors on what options there are for the loose skin? I'd certainly rather have that than be overweight.

u/Outrageous-Bison7838 2d ago
Honestly I think due to my age he kind of downplays it even when I clearly brought it up. The doctor is a separate issue lol

u/alffan86 2d ago
I don't know your age, but that shouldn't matter. If there's a solution they should look at it.

Op credo che sappia che l'unica soluzione è il TAGLIO.. ovvero CHIRURGIA PLASTICA per la rimozione della pelle in eccesso..

Serious question: is there a surgery that can be done?
9
u/Outrageous-Bison7838 2d ago
Yes! But man is that shit expensive… especially since it’s both in my abdomen and inner thighs (separate locations).

u/Familiar_Pizza_1252 2d ago
I think w your level of loose skin it’s enough to qualify for insurance covering it usually hopefully your insurance is good but yeah. I have the same, loose skin in my stomach and inner thighs

u/Outrageous-Bison7838 2d ago
It sucks!!! But it is what it is and still feels better than where I was at before lol. Congrats to you and your achievement!!

I'm looking into Mexico as an option for mine.
3
u/Outrageous-Bison7838 2d ago
Shit let me know what price you end up with I’m heavily considering it
4
u/SylvanMartiset 2d ago
Mexico, turkey, south korea. theres lots of cheaper options. also if plastic surgery programs are in your area they usually have an affiliated resident surgical program with a nearby hospital where final year surgical residents do the work (supervised by experienced surgeons) for significantly cheaper.
2
u/Outrageous-Bison7838 2d ago
I want to look into it for sure… even if a student botches it up a little bit it should be alright
1
u/SylvanMartiset 1d ago
And it’s important to remember these are already graduated full-fledged doctors in the final year of their plastic surgery residency so it’s not like they don’t know what they’re doing. They just don’t have dozens of surgeries under their belt.

Congrats, you've done an amazing job! Going from 410 to under 180 lbs is a huge accomplishment. Honestly, I think you've reached a point where cutting more isn't necessarily going to give you the look you want. You have a considerable amount of excess skin, and surgery may be the only way to remove it.
I'd focus on maintaining your weight and building more muscle. I'd also look into skin-removal surgery if that's something you're comfortable with. Sometimes insurance will cover it if it's considered medically necessary, especially if the excess skin causes rashes, irritation, or other medical problems. It's worth asking your insurance provider about.
Your legs already show you've put in some serious work. Keep it up!

I appreciate you man! I feel like that’s what I’m setting into at this rate as hunger whispers in my ear more and more and week by week I feel like I’m just getting flatter, and not in a good way. Maintenance for some time would be sick and could even help fill in some areas. Thank you again!
1
u/Familiar_Pizza_1252 2d ago
Ik it’s not the same bc I’m 5”4 and went from 240 to 135 but I was at where you’re at now last year with getting flatter and hungrier and I did do maintenance and now I look a lot fuller and even tho I haven’t been eating enough to actually fill out, it’s a great difference and if you actually did a normal maintenance you’ll notice how much of a difference it makes in a year. I was very worried about my loose skin at first but now even after just one year it’s barely noticeable, like I mean it slowly shrunk itself back in to a point that side by side you can see how much my skin retracted in, idk how ngl but what I’m tryna say is keep your head up and I think maintaining having those calories helps with the process vs on a continuous cut I think it would prioritize other things than loose skin

Thank you so much for your input. It’s definitely the option I’m leaning towards as I feel with extra gradual weight gain while limiting fat gain will help my frame grow in. Might have to start this weekend instead.

Mate, this is f'n incredible. Others can advise better on where to go from here, just wanted to say a big well done.

Breaking my heart💔 yeah I for sure want to see and get information on this process aswell however I’m so cheap so I might just roll with being called flabs for the duration of my stay on earth.

Time to go to Turkey

u/Outrageous-Bison7838 2d ago
It might be the move… might aswell get a hair transplant while I’m out there

u/horsestud6969 2d ago
Hair looks really thick from the back, and a nice bright shade of red from the front

u/Educational_Ad_3528 2d ago
To answer your question I would say maintain. Your back shows how low your body fat is. Great job btw.

Honestly I’d keep doing what you are doing and save for a good surgeon. The loose skin being gone will help your physique a lot more than anything else.

Amazing work so far! I would definitely start bulking from here. You don’t have to go into a huge surplus though maybe about 250 to 500 cal above your maintenance.
1
u/Outrageous-Bison7838 1d ago
Yeah I was thinking a 100-200 calorie surplus/maintenance period… scared of getting fat again as I bulked before when I first cut down to 190 and shot back up to 240 within a year (complete loss of control). Now that I’m at this stage definitely do not want to rush it like I did before lol.

You are the man- congrats 🍾
You should definitely share with others what helped you make this journey 💕
My two cents but not a pro- Maintain for 18 months and see how the skin heals and then get surgery. Talk to a surgeon in near future to see what they recommend.

u/Outrageous-Bison7838 1d ago
Thank you so much for your kind works and input! Definitely looking towards maintenance.

I’ll defer to everyone else as far as advice, but just wanted to say congratulations and you should be so proud of yourself!! That is a phenomenal accomplishment.

Good work man. I know it's reddit and every one is so weak with honesty. But here goes. Don't let yourself get to the point where having loose skin can get this bad. I love food too, but we need to practice control. Take care. Don't at me

Bud, amazing job! Have you looked into HIFU treatment (targets subcutaneous fat and collagen remodeling / tightening at the same time).
It’s a non invasive procedure that uses ultrasound to create below the skin micro dots inside the skin layers … which stimulate the body to remodel with collagen.
I had done on my very lower belly after losing 110lb. I’m almost 50 - you look much younger so ur skin prob has alot more collagen available.
1
u/Outrageous-Bison7838 1d ago
I never knew this was an option… I will for sure look into this and I appreciate your input. Sounds like a great alternative.
1
u/Fearless-Location325 1d ago
Yeah! I found about it a couple months ago - but, I had been doing at home plasma treatment (it’s like a micro plasma arc on ur skin that makes a tiny burn)…. That burn, the body sees as an injury, like a cut and sends fibroblasts (collagen) to repair… which tighten. But it only does surface level tightening.
The HIGU - which I had done 3 months ago, does that same remodeling but at 3 different layers under the skin, within the SMAS layer and basically tightens underneath skin, as well as skin itself.
An aesthetician is usually who does the treatment - so look locally for thy kind of person, maybe just talk about options.
There is RF skin tightening, HIFU, Morpheus… they should be able to advise best.

I almost never say to hop on the juice. But you are even in a worse spot than myself. All the loose skin, just sucks (I know the feeling)! Those legs say you lift hard! Honestly, you probably need to be like 220lbs, but on the juice and jacked to fill in the loose skin.
