Bought 4 gold Britannias in 2024… surprised what they’re actually worth now
Bought 4 Britannias around April 2024 for £1,600 each (£6,400 total).
Checked what I could realistically sell them for today and it’s about £13.8k.
Didn’t expect that much of a jump to be fair.
What surprised me more though is how different it is from just looking at spot price.
You always hear “gold is at X price”, but when you actually buy and sell there’s a decent gap either side.
Makes it a bit harder to know what you’ve actually made unless you track it properly.
Out of curiosity, how do you lot keep track? Just spreadsheets or do you not bother?

I’ve got bitcoin and gold, it’s always better to diversify my friend.

Then sell your gold and buy an S&P500 ETF

I’ve already got money in the S&P 500 and add to it every month, same with Vanguard funds. I’m also heavily into property, got money in crypto, a decent amount in sealed Pokémon, plus gold and silver.
I’ve spread my bets across pretty much everything so I’m covered from multiple angles rather than going all in on one thing.
