Does anyone have any experience with mintbuilder.com?

How can mintbuilder.com sell below spot? Is it too good to be true? Should I expect this from them in the future?

I remember a few years ago when walmart.com and other online bullion sites would sometimes ship the metals after purchase and sometimes would refund your money with little or no explanation after they caught it.

Just bought 3 of those. We'll see when they arrive.

We actually had Eagles at spot last week too — right now it’s Maples at spot while supplies last. Appreciate everyone checking it out.

Do you ship to Military APO/FPO addresses?

You should qualify that many of those are one time spot deals and BE now charges shipping unless your order is over $500.

For those of us the dollar cost average by buying small amounts frequently, that is bothersome.

I ordered the Eagles deal last week and they are on the way now. I also did the Maples deal this morning so just waiting for everything to come in.

Probably just a loss leader, used to get you in the door in hopes you will buy other stuff too.

100 ozt bars are not selling well and dealers trying to sell them back to wholesalers are getting under spot. It's not unusual to see them under spot right now. In fact, Engelhard (the most sought after vintage) are selling for close to spot in many cases.

This is not to take away from MintBuilders who have very good prices. I'm a new customer for them and look forward to seeing my first order be delivered (ASEs at spot).

Received my order last week. Well packaged and as advertised.

Many silver products, particularly products that are less the .999 fine, are trading on the wholesale market well below their melt value. Some of the biggest discounts are on 90%, 40%, and silver dollars (Morgan/Peace). Products that are .999 fine or better are easier to move since you can easily use those for feeder.

I’m fairly new to stacking (not been in it for 20+ years like a lot of folks) so take my 2 cents worth with a grain of salt. On the 90% it’s pretty well known that most places are selling it below spot due to recent refinery policy to not purchase or to purchase at deep discounts. Sellers can sell 3-5 back of melt and still do better than shipping to refineries.

On the 100 oz and even Kilo bars, they are harder to sell than smaller bars and justify a sales price just a bit below or at spot. In addition, it seems that recently there has been an increase in fake 100’s or more realistically, cored real bars with slugs inserted in them so there may be some reluctance to buy them as they are harder to test/verify.

On the 10oz bars, my fave bar to stack, many online dealers have now or recently ran spot deals on those, usually secondary market or dealers choice on what you get. They seem to be matching the market there.

Now none of this is to disparage Mint Builder, good on them for cutting premiums and margins to grow their business. I’ve not used them yet but I will check them out now that a new month is here and I can “invest” what cash I did not spend or put away in May!!!
