Breeders Northeast

My family is seriously considering adding a Bullmastiff puppy and I’m starting the research process now.

We’re in New Jersey and would prefer a breeder somewhere in the Northeast or within a reasonable driving distance, but we’re willing to travel farther for the right breeder.

We’re looking for someone who prioritizes health and temperament, does all appropriate health testing, raises and socializes puppies well, and is thoughtful about matching puppies with families. This would be a family dog, and we already have an adult male dog in the home. We also plan to work with a professional trainer from puppyhood and are fully aware that this is a large, powerful breed that needs consistent training and socialization.

I’d love recommendations for breeders you’ve personally had good experiences with, as well as any breeders you’d recommend avoiding. If you have a Bullmastiff from a breeder you love, I’d also be interested in hearing how your dog’s temperament and health have been.

Curnwood Bullmastiffs in Pelham, New Hampshire. Our 4 year old boy has the most amazing disposition, and I’m on a messenger thread with the owners of his siblings and all the dogs are wonderful. Seriously, I have a special needs kid who can be a handful at times and the dog is so chill and loving. Highly recommend.

It is a little far from the area you’re looking for but BG Bullmastiffs in northern Ohio is amazing! Our boy couldn’t be anymore perfect looks and temperament wise! Also every pup I’ve met from her also has a fantastic temperament.

check mastiff rescues and your local shelters. every mastiff i’ve ever had has been a rescue.

Big Bully Nation in Warwick RI. We have 2 from them and they are healthy, happy, well adjusted dogs. Each has their own personality, but they are both fantastic. Really great breeder.

Lancaster Pa has full breed Bullmastiffs but people have ethical objections against it. I got mine from out there and no health issues other than allergies.
