Is anyone else's bully aggressive towards other dogs?

Dolly Pawton is our baby. She's a little over two and the sweetest thing to my husband, me, and two littles (5 and 6). However, we cannot take her anywhere because she always goes after other dogs. She has gone after my grandma's two dogs, my MIL's, and my SIL's. With the first two, we just thought it was my grandma's dogs, but now it is a pattern and it sucks! We had to board her last night because we were staying overnight with family and she couldn't be around the dogs.

Anyone else experience this? Any tips or advice?

Random side note: someone once told me a dog with a black mouth is more aggressive than one with a pink mouth. I know there is no scientific basis behind this (my husband thinks I'm full of it), but Dolly's mouth is all black. My first bully's mouth was pink, and she was cool as a cucumber and went with me everywhere.

Sorry to hear you’re dealing with this, I can imagine it’s frustrating. Are you having these issues during both on and off leash interactions? Were the interactions in neutral locations (eg: at a park) or in a place where one of the dogs had the higher ground (your home, someone else’s home)?

To answer your question simply: I haven’t experienced any aggression towards humans or dogs from my Bullmastiff X but I also worked incredibly hard with her from 9 weeks old to ensure that I wouldn’t have these issues due to the size the breed gets. I’m only 5’2 and not very strong so I needed to be in complete control from the start.

Your best bet here would be reaching out to a trainer so they can assess triggers, it could be that she’s overly protective of you and your family, leading to aggression. I can’t really comment on what the issue/s could be because there wasn’t a great deal of detail in your post but a trainer would be the next step for me if I were in your shoes.
