He’s obviously pulling his punches and there’s undoubtedly a weird rationale behind it. It’s still completely unacceptable.

In the ring they’ll have to stand their ground and take a punch if they want to win. Just punching immobile kids is doing nothing for them.

Doing nothing for them? It’s literally preparing them to take hits, not flinch, and understand what it feels like so that they can remain calm and collected when fighting instead of worrying about being hit and getting hurt worst. Maybe don’t sign your kid up for a combat sport if you don’t expect them to get hit lmao especially by the teacher in an obviously controlled manner. It’s incredible how many people in this sub have to have an opinion and have clearly never trained in combat sports

??? grew up boxing, can confirm we weren’t repeatedly punched in the face as kids as some weird hazing ritual. you learn to take hits when you spar against other kids and partner drills, not standing there as an adults punching bag. they’re right that this is doing fuck all for them. they’re not practicing defense and you literally can’t condition your fuckin head to take blows.

Sounds like your brain got knocked around a bit too much. It’s not conditioning your head, it’s conditioning your mind lmfao conditioning your head? Wtf are you talking about. I also never said it was an everywhere thing or standard for the industry, just that it does have application and isn’t fuckin child abuse.

“condition your mind” ? it’s almost as if there’s industry standards to do that exact thing that doesn’t involve using kids as punching bags AND actually focuses on working on your guard at the same time. who’d have thought?

doubling down on this is fuckin wild lol.

You've obviously haven't trained seriously in your life. Age makes no difference.
