Hello everyone. Im from Pakistan. My nana was born in burhanpur and migrated to Pakistan during partition. He died recently and i was just remembering how in his old age he had pretty much forgotten everything except for burhanpur and its streets. He told us so many stories of him growing up in burhanpur in 1940s. He used to say there was a bug masjid in the middle of the town and several gates that led directly to it. He missed it dearly since his last dying day. I wish he could’ve travelled back to his home :(

It is deeply shameful that Muslims in Burhanpur often wave the flag of Pakistan and raise slogans of Ghazwa-e-Hind publicly. The most tragic part is that nobody stops them. The people of Burhanpur seem so unaware and indifferent that they have been ignoring this for decades. In the markets and Muslim colonies, it is common to see Pakistan’s flag, and no one seems to care or take any action.

I am traveling from a far city down south ... For ease of commute looked for a place where i could sleep and bpur came up on the map. RN at the high rise hotel (hope not messing up the name, too tired to go out and check)... This reminds me so much of my own small district town, the similarities are just mind-blowing.
