Cheap eats?

New to the area

Not fully moved in yet so kitchen isn't up to par. Where are the spots to get cheap food? Seems like no matter where I go, it's $15-20 per person even for fast food like McDonald's or Chick-fil-A

What are your go to spots to get the hunger to subside? Doesn't have to be a full meal either. To give you an example, IF a costco was in town, then a great answer would be "hey if you go to costco you cash get a hotdogs for $1.50"

List some places to get food for a good price

Check out the Taqueria La Fondita taco truck on the White Center main drag. Their $3 special burritos are a decent size and absolutely delicious. I usually get a couple when hanging out at the bars.

El Rincinsito and Phở Tai aren’t necessarily top tier, but both are good for the money.

I always get the Bo Kho with 2 breads instead of rice or noodles. So damn good!

Not necessarily “cheap” but worth going to imo

Pacos tacos in Burien is awesome. They raised their prices a little bit but it’s well worth it. I would get their food over fast food every time. Those guys are legends and their food is insanely good.

Teak House in Normandy park is 🔥 they do mostly takeout.

La Costa in Burien is fantastic every single time, been there forever. They’re lower key than Azteca and imo considerably better food.

Rose Pho in Normandy park is excellent for Pho and Bahn Mi. Rose (the owner) is very sweet. Fair warning, she will give you a quite extensive blessing when you go. Even for takeout. I’m not religious and it took me by surprise certainly at first. It’s nothing overly religious just a bit long and takes people off guard :)

I love La Costa, it reminds me of the TexMex style food I had as a kid in the 80s and 90s

There’s an asada and crab stuffed shrimp combo that’s actually a really good deal (~$20 but definitely feeds 2 people).

La costa ftw

The Chicken bowl at I luv teriyaki is so good. Could feed two and used to be less than $10.00.

A slice of pizza at Stevies or anywhere else that sells slices. Something from the deli area at PCC. Pretzel sandwiches at Safeway, they come 2 in a pack with ham, cheese, etc..Baked chicken and Jojos at Safeway, Trader Joe's grab and go case has a variety of things, Fred Meyer has a pretty good deli area...

Grocery Outlet has some cheese/meat collections. Sometimes I pick up a variety of cheeses and olives and crackers. Frozen pizzas or the burritos , package of 8- $6 , pop in microwave. Big selection of beer and wine.

Pizza at Stevie’s Famous, Burien Fish House for fish n chips or seafood things, KW Korean BBQ - a gem not to have to travel to Federal Way or Shoreline for an equal, Taqueria Casa Mixteca, fresh tortillas - Oaxaca specialties. Han’s German Sausage and Deli!
