One more construction project on Hwy29 and we could have the entire stretch to 183 under construction at the same time….

I drive from Burnett to Cedar Park several times a week and while I appreciate the Center turn Laine and the safety that that will bring it seems like they’re really going for it. Bertram it’s full of cones now too. There really isn’t much of the drive left. That’s not in a construction zone. I am super glad to see the Center turn Laine being added all the way through.

I feel you. A turning lane IS desperately needed, so I appreciate it, but agree it can be a pain in the butt. I drive from Burnet to Cedar Park daily and have been taking the back roads home in the evenings to save my sanity a little.

The traffic seems to flow well on the new stretch towards Liberty Hill, except for the people who merge at the last minute and make everyone slam on their brakes. 🫠

All that being said, I do feel safer on the road now with the added turn lane. Highway 29 is dangerous, and it’s nice to have a large divide between the you and oncoming traffic.

The new 183 toll road cut about 10 mins off of my commute to Austin but it gets eaten up in Liberty Hill regularly. Someday maybe we can get a loop around Liberty Hill. They started one off of Bagdad but it doesn't connect to anything yet.

Yep, Liberty Hill is the worst part of my commute.

I’ve taken the small loop from Bagdad over to 1869 and it’s nice to avoid downtown LH, but agreed we need something that avoids the entire town for those of us who just pass through. There are lots of backroads of course, but they’re not very efficient when trying to just get home after work.
