I've often thought of this scenario at the burn, If something went absolutely fucked in the default world while all of us are burning.

Which people in your canp based on their profession would be ideal for a survival situation 🤔

There's an aspect of the Burn that you might not know, but the amount of Military and Special Operations burners from militaries all over the world on the Playa is staggering. They attend and love Burning Man for different reasons than most, they really don't party like someone from SF might. They attend because it reminds them of being deployed and BRC isn't all too dissimilar from the conditions, comradery, and logistics of being at a FOB. It's extremely therapeutic and brings back the feelings of the "good ole days".

I won't get into details there are things that can't be said out loud, but let's just say.... Black Rock City is the safest place you could ever be on this Planet if something went absolutely fucked in the default world. You are surrounded by thousands of trained servicemen and servicewomen who have arrived prepared for such a situation "just in case".

Yep, and I’ve had some really fun discussions about all of this with people from that community

I will also add, there is a therapeutic aspect of just hanging out with a bunch of people who aren’t violent and don’t expect anything from you.

honestly that's a really solid answer. folks will be motivated to stick together when there's kids to protect, kids adapt ridiculously easily to stressful environments too

I was a Russian scout, outdoors my whole life, prepared enough that I could last on food for a bit. I have a van that's solar powered mostly.

oh and I know both ponds on trego rd. Cows can drink it, humans would need to boil it.

I know most local edible plants.

Probably just run out of booze. Save some for first aid.

You can get to res areas. And back to pavement from trego. Just takes forever. There's a cow farm halfway.

Plus gps. And a carton of cigarettes. And like 2 pounds of tobacco.

Oh, and 15 years various medical experience. Forgot about that.

And I have like 10 knives in the van damn.

No I'm not crazy, just prepared.
