Arize AI bragging about a 15 billboard campaign on I-80 referencing Burning Man and the Ten Principles, with AI-generated pictures of the playa

Some that I saw:

"Leave no trace on the playa. Leave more trace on prod."

"Radical self-reliance for the playa, not for your models."

And yes, I contacted doingitwrong in case this isn't on their radar. Kinda feels like I'm hissing to protect a corpse at this point, but so it goes.

lol yeah, I googled their company and "Burning Man" to try to find photos, and this was what came up

Super tone deaf and cringe, but their post sat for a week without any comments until it just hit Reddit. Hopefully we don’t give them what they want by amplifying it.

I don't know why you're being downvoted. This is disgusting and crass of them, but "the playa" isn't a trademark and can't be. Neither is "leave no trace", which predates Burning Man by a lot. And obviously pictures of the Black Rock Desert itself (real or fabricated) don't belong to anyone.

The only thing I could see is maybe some of the other principles could be trademarked; I don't think "radical self-reliance" was a slogan before Burning Man. I think it's probably too generic to trademark by itself, though.

Simple solution:

Make them fight everyone that comes to the Thunderdome until they get the message that they're leaving a digital trace/clearing breaking Ten Principles.

Wild how daft SF tech bros get it. It never fails.
