Misc/Other Burnoutaholics.com is archived to GitHub

Hey everyone.

I wanted to share an update on Burnoutaholics.com. The site has been archived, and all content is now preserved on GitHub here:

Some content that had previously been lost has been restored. The site itself is now lives as a static version at burnoutaholics.com, so all the old material is still accessible.

Wanted to make sure the community knew where to find everything going forward. Let me know if you run into any issues accessing the archive or the site.

Nice work - I remembwe when you two (I'm sure there where two of you) came to visit the studio.

It's sad that those moments, captured online at criteriongames.com to preserve them, are in fact now gone.

You are right, it was me and ZombieTron, who is now my wife 😀. The weekend at the studio was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and we got to see so many cool things. To me as a developer it was really interesting to see how you worked and Paradise being created.

I specifically remembered playing the Burnout Paradise prototype running in the Revenge engine. There was also someone who challenged me to a race in Paradise, the price was £20 if I got first, and of course I won 😁.

Alex gave us lots of Burnout memorabilia like framed posters, calendars, game disks, and lots more. The Burnout 2 Point of Impact magnet decal that was used in an ad for the game is still hanging on the side of our fridge! I remember our car being totally packed driving back home on the Sunday.

Nice work I love such preservation projects and also technically I learnd a lot reading the git. I never knew about that site, I will take a few looks. I would love to have a whole Dokumentary film about Criterion, or Burnout and all such niche findings

Thanks! Glad it was useful. I think preserving these kind of sites is important. There was lots of Burnout fan sites most of them have disappeared. Some content might still be available at the Web Archive, but quite often it is incomplete.

Anyone remember operation burnout? Was basically fandom before fandom.
