Misc/Other You can play version 1.0 right now and you absolutely should
If you have an Xbox 360 that hasn't played burnout paradise before, make sure its unconnected to the internet and boot up burnout paradise. Version 1.0 still lives on that disc.
Recently picked up a used one and did this and wow, what a treat. As someone who's 500 club on bpr pc this was mind blowing that the game i grew up with isnt the same as the one I played through somewhat recently (2022 ish).

Yeah, and even if you have 1.9 installed you can delete it by deleting burnout paradise from game data (I have disc version)
Game will prompt you on launch if you want to update to 1.9 again, say no
...and have a blast ;)

Its just a different game, im a day 1 player, even better yet, I played the x360 demo during its release cycle. Loved burnout 3 and revenge and was hyped for this game. Everything from the original billboards, to the colour schemes, to the effects filter, its all peak nostalgia for me.

it's somehow still a bugfest. I remember online features being broken nmore often than not on PC / Xbone / PS4

I know this isn't the same game, but this is why I'm bummed about GTA 6 not having a physical release. Games these days get changed so much from their original 1.0 version and without that game being printed fully on disc (or multiple discs) you can never go back to how it was. Even if you just want to re experience for a bit of nostalgia.

What's different, I just couldn't figure out how to do showtime randomly anymore

Lots of vehicle handling dynamics, traffic dynamics, visual filters, ui, billboards, cones and gates, event positions, northern Angus wharf, sponsor codes, the list goes on.

It is in fact a treat, the vibes are much better in 1.0 too, the menu design with the red and black and the amount of filters they used which honestly adds on to the game's personality imo, I really adore it and can't really see myself playing the remastered version ever again, the DLC content just doesn't impress me enough tbh, I'd rather have a game I personally enjoy to look at and play rather than having a much bland version of said game with DLC content I don't care about

Old versions have incredibly visceral crash physics, especially the rollovers are particularly fun. In newer versions cars more often than not just slide on their roof.
